Karimikui Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I went on a date a month or so ago with a guy on Tinder. His profile said he was 31 which is 7 years younger than me. We went on a 2nd date and at this point he casually mentioned that his Tinder profile had got his age wrong and that he's really 38. He said he'd created a new Facebook just to use with Tinder and he'd punched in any old date of birth. He actually looked only 31 or less. I mentioned all this to a friend who got really dramatic about it and said the guy is a fraud and is practicing deception. I'm not sure whether he did it on purpose or not, but does it really matter? In the end I didn't see him again, but not because of the age confusion.
Revan32 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 You can't access someone's facebook via tinder. So why would that have anything to do with him deceiving anyone? If he gave you his new one then that would be a warning sign. I actually opened a new facebook when I first tried tinder too. I wasn't 100% sure it wouldn't show up on my facebook feed and I thought it was kinda embarrassing to use online dating at the time. It seems like you should have been thrilled he was older than what his fb had said. Unless you were specifically out on the prowl for some fresher meat.
siriusp Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 What difference does it make? You get to know the person and if you like him/her then go further if not then you don't.......
Vintage79 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 He cleaned it up quickly...not a huge deal, but it is a question mark. If you like him, just pretend it didn't happen, or give him the benefit of the doubt that it was a mistake...
EricaH329 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Personally, yes it would bother me. If someone is serious about meeting someone online, then you'd think they would take the time to put in accurate information. Also, i'd be a little confused as to why he didn't mention it during the first date, or even before it got to that point.
