Hi everyone!

I know this is such a silly question, but it's been bugging me!

Today morning, I woke up to someone calling me from my exes house - presumably his mother (since he lives with her). I deleted my ex's number a month ago, but I had forgotten to delete his mom's. His mom had two numbers - one her cellphone, and one her home phone. I was confused, but my gut reaction was to pick up the call. But no one spoke, I could hear his mother in the background, and then I just hung up after about 30 seconds of not hearing anyone speak. So the call definitely wasn't from her cell, if it was her cell, I would have just assumed that she called mistakenly or how touch phones end up dialing numbers themselves when they're in pockets/bags and not made anything of this at all. But the call was from their home number - for which they do not use a cellphone.

Maybe I'm thinking too much?

If I were you, I would call it nothing...it can be anything...maybe she wanted to make a phone call, and she dialed your number by mistake, it happens when you have got a phone number fixed in your mind, maybe someone wanted to see whose number it is in her phone, a dad, a brother a sister, or someone else you know what I mean, and made a phone call to make sure...and maybe it was literally her, but what does that mean? if she wanted reconciliation, she would tell you that directly...she would do that, if she was dying to hear from you...just let these ideas go...go back to NC...you will figure out soon, but don't count on it...I would not do that...

I think it was your ex, calling just to hear your voice. Creepy but he must really miss you.

It's just weird because if he wanted to do that it would be smarter to call from an unknown number or something, why would he want to show that he (or whoever was calling) was calling from his mom's number...

It's just kinda messing with my head, but I'm probably overreacting.

Could have been a strange accident, you never know.. I'd say it's probably not worth worrying about unless it happens again :p

I guess so, lol.

As the dumpee, I seem to jump at every glimmer of hope that he will contact me again, some day.

I know how you feel, I'm going through the same thing. Every time my phone goes off I get a bit of hope only to be disappointed.

Okay now I am confused even more.

Today morning I wake up to ANOTHER missed call from his house. This time my phone was on silent so I didn't pick up.

Should I ignore it?

Yes. If it is your ex and he wants to talk to you, he can put on his big-boy pants and actually speak to you.

For what it's worth, my dad pocket-dialed me three times yesterday (and I live abroad) I finally had to message him and let him know his phone was being weird. He had no idea.

I would assume it was just a strange accident where someone pressed the wrong number/keypad unless it keeps happening.
