ShyUncertainDude Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I'm a sophomore in high school and only recently have I found any interest in girls at all. Anyways, I was assigned to a group project with this one girl in my class (the teacher chose people randomly), and, well, I really like her now. She is a really nice, friendly, fun, and an awesome person with a great personality, and she is really beautiful too. The problem is, after the project ended I haven't really been able to talk to her, I feel too shy, and she doesn't seem to take any interest in me at the moment. What should I do? I really like her. (I have never dated before or done anything close to this, a couple months ago I didn't even understand how you could "like" a girl, so, this entire idea is still new to me).
d0nnivain Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 You are growing up. It happens to everybody. Start slow. Work up all your courage & say hi to her. Don't worry about anything else for now. Just make a point to greet her. When you feel comfortable doing that after you have done it for a while say something else. Perhaps ask to borrow her notes from class. Ask her to study for the next test. Talk about how the school's teams are doing. 1
Author ShyUncertainDude Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 I just can't build up the courage to even say hi, I guess I keep over thinking everything and I'll just start thinking a bunch of negative thoughts about things that can go wrong. I don't know what to do.
d0nnivain Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 You have to build up the courage. Just try it. Squeak out hi. It's 2 little letters, 1 syllable. You can't do this. Stop psyching yourself out. If you do nothing, do you know what's going to happen? Best case: nothing. More probably she's end up dating another guy. Just say hi. That's all. 2
Gloria25 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Practice with girls you're not that interested in. The more your "practice" something, the more familiar you get with it and it'll come naturally. Even if you try with her and fumble, so what...at least you got some practice with a girl you actually like so next time you meet another girl you like and/or have another opportunity to chat up this girl, it'll get easier and easier. Good luck!!!
Author ShyUncertainDude Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 Well I'll try on Monday, I really don't want to lose this chance, I can't stop thinking about her. Thanks for the help and wish me luck!
