Can a girl's second or subsequent love be as intense or fiery as her first?

What I mean is can she feel just as much intense emotion or emotion towards a second, third or n-th.... love as she did her first?

What experience do you have with this?

Reason I ask is I have never had a serious relationship. The girl I dated has. She was seeing this guy for over 2 years her freshman and sophomore years of high school. Although they never had sex she says that was her first serious relationship.

Yes and it can be alot better. she now knows about herself and what she wants more. and the fact that shes with you means she sees something with you and your relationship and love can be alot better.. she can feel those emotions and a whole lot more. straight forward, yes she can feel that way.

Eh, high school, that is usually puppy love.

Before I read your last sentence I was going to ask what KIND of love are we talking here?

My highschool BF and I exchanged "I love you's" (and had an active sex life as well). Sure, I had feelings for him, and the romance was fun... And I have dated other guys that I was infatuated with / cared for etc.

But those "loves" do not hold a candle to the feelings I developed for the man I met my last year of college. And 14 years later we are still together.

This kind of "love" is totally different than what I understood love to be I'm highschool.

Of course everyone is different, but most do not marry their highschool sweet hearts - they find "love" later in life.

But has that "puppy love" been more impacting on your heart? Has that been more passion?

Also, another question. If she is still talking to her ex and claiming she is just "friends" with him, is that a red flag?

Maybe so and I cannot agree more; HOWEVER, I still wonder if "high school sweethearts" and first loves create the most emotional impact on a girl's heart.

No, doesn't hold a candle to the "real thing"
