hi, guys

I have a tough negotiation in front of me, at the end of next week. Do you happen to know a good site / article or ideally good books that can help me prepare for this?

It is in my personal interest so yeah, that meeting next week is extremely important.

I am scheduling a meeting with my team already to prepare for it, but I am unaware of any specific negotiation techniques that I should get all of my team familiar with.

thx,

cheers

What type of negotiation is it and who with?

What work style do the people you are going to be negotiating with have?

It's good to know also what their key interest will be on the subject so that you can pitch it to suit them.

I've read a few of these type of books but without knowing the above it would be difficult to suggest one that might be of use.

Japanese company, but both teams are European. Lawyers are involved.

It's a negotiation - we're trying to close the deal so that my team doesn't go to court - which will cost us / and the other party / a lot of money.

It has the potential of getting dirty. The lawyer in the other team is older and male. My team and lawyers are all women.

There's a chapter in the Mackay's Swim with Sharks book : The single most powerful tool for winning a negotiation is the ability to walk away from the table without a deal.

Does that apply to you?
