disbelief Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 do most people find this? the pain from heartbreak seems to come and go. some days are ok and some days just suck. its been about 60 days and i feel its getting better but still hurts like hell. is it true that its just a chemical reaction in the brain? time eventually evens out the chemicals in the brain and you feel "ok" again?
Liono84 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Perfectly normal, indeed. You'll have good days, sprinkled with some bad. Think of it as 3 steps forward, 1 step back. The important thing is looking at the big picture of things. So long as the thoughts of your ex no longer effect your mood on a consistent basis, you're heading in the right direction. It's been 2 months for me too, and I'm doing a whole lot better. I still think about her everyday, and will probably have that linger until I find someone else, but the pain is not nearly as intense.
loveforever101 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I think its just part of the healing process. I'm a bit further ahead I would say I'm probably at the 100 day mark or so and I'm having more good days than bad. Do I still think about her a lot? Yes of course but it doesn't hurt me anymore. Maybe every day here a and there now but I realized something. I deserve better. You deserve better. We all deserve the best. Try and keep that mentality when you feel down it helped me a lot.
ExpatInItaly Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 60 days isn't much time. Be patient and kind to yourself. What you're experiencing is totally normal. Some days are good, some days are bad. That's just you working through the emotions, which is a sign that you're processing the break-up. And no, I don't believe that it's just a chemical reaction that causes this.
Thegreatfrazzle Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 At the two month mark I was a total mess. Now, I am much better, so much better than I ever thought I would feel during the really bad times. It does get better, best of luck
jen1447 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 is it true that its just a chemical reaction in the brain? time eventually evens out the chemicals in the brain and you feel "ok" again? Pretty much. It doesn't mean that love's a lie or anything like that, but if you're looking for a biological reason for your pain, that's it. You were getting regular fixes of feel-good chemicals before, now you're not, so you're detoxing.
