Wink Tobasco Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Hugging comes pretty naturally with a person you've been close to for many moons. What about earlier in a relationship? I'm not one for aggressive first moves ( like suddenly hanging her upside down from a chandelier and kissing her upside down) For me the intimacy builds slow. In the past I usually find a reason to briefly hug a woman that I'm considering. Eventually one of these quick hugs will become a long lingering hug. I figure it makes my warm feelings for her known. That's my way and it usually leads to good things. But I'm no player and my tally isn't high. So ladies, in the early stages, what hugs do you like. This assumes the guy is someone you're developing an interest in. The " I can't breath" bear hug? The gentle but immobilizing hug? The very gentle hug? The more hands/less arms hug? The maximum contact standing full body hug? etc?
Satu Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I think the 'spontaneous hug' is best. Beware of overthinking. 7
Gloria25 Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I'm sorry, but I just don't see "hugging" as something I'm doing with a guy I'm dating and/or interested in romantically - unless it's like I'm greeting him at the airport, consoling him, etc. I'm used to a guy reaching out and kissing me or putting his arm around me. Don't see a "hug" as a primary means of greeting between me and a guy I'm into romantically. I come from Hispanic culture where the men - even those who are not romantically interested in you - will greet you with like a sort of hand-shake/hand-holding and a kiss on your cheek. This "hug" thing is a concept I just don't get. "Friends" hug each other, IMO, 3
Popsicle Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 The maximum contact standing full body hug? This one....
d0nnivain Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Every woman is different but anything that prohibits or restricts movement is problematic.
purplesorrow Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 As a guy, I usually give ladies the full body hug so they feel the erection poking them in the belly. Classic!!!

"Friends" hug each other, IMO, I agree, i dont think hugs are very romantic at all. I much prefer an arm on the shoulder, a hand on the small of the back, a kiss on the cheek, holding hands, and kissing eventually. Hugs are for my mum. 2
Gus Grimly Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I'll tell you what kinda hug I don't like, the dreaded double-pat. Oh mercy! 2
regine_phalange Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 I like a hug that feels warm and caring, no matter how it's done 2
blueskyday Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Full body hug, gentle, with a brushing yet lingering kiss to the cheek...will make me want more... 1
bluefeather Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Your hug definitions are awesome. The gentle but immobilizing hug? Upcoming police seminar?^^ I think it depends on what both are comfortable with, and the situation. I once knew a girl who was very anti-hug. I hadn't hugged her before. It just came up in conversation that she didn't like being hugged in general. So I never tried. I was out and hadn't seen her for several days. When I saw her again, she looked shy and quietly asked, "can I give you a hug?" so I was like ok np. And she squeezed super hard. That was the "'I can't breath' bear hug" Up to the person and the situation. As a guy, I usually give ladies the full body hug so they feel the erection poking them in the belly. oh lordy... lol

RecentChange Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 (edited) The make out hug? I agree with some others here - I huh my friends when I greet them - but someone I am romantically involved with - not so much (although I never thought about it!). Guy friends get the one arm over the shoulder side by side hug, girls get a two arm frontal. I have a business client who always hugs me - two arm frontal - F'ing wigs me out. No moleste! I have firmly put him in the perv category now (he pulled this "hugging greeting" the first time I met him). But a guy I am seeing? Well - I love kissing, and I love to grab him, pull him close, grab his ass and pull him closer - and make out Edited September 6, 2015 by RecentChange 1

Or hand around my waist and in my back-pocket of jeans. I just love seeing couples walking and both and/or one of them have their arm around the other, with hand in back-pocket http://fscomps.fotosearch.com/compc/FSA/FSA003/x15664637.jpg http://cache4.asset-cache.net/gc/56323509-couple-womans-hands-in-mans-back-pocket-mid-gettyimages.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=WhPDRS0JgBGMbwAVYKo8TNu4ZUSD5vx9cruBdzRB8j9YW4P2igzCvzy1MTRNyiU3 http://cache2.asset-cache.net/gc/483612193-couple-embracing-woman-placing-hand-in-mans-gettyimages.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=qMk%2BkS4HtUJEZwm0wZ1%2FywUqCRwvWw%2FIGKPNkjdk9UMoT8gEX0jHKxVWw37q2DxBdcdV9LT8%2BZszDYbhPimkkA%3D%3D
