nescafe1982 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) I place a premium on intellect, personally, but I'm also in research/higher ed, and intellectual pursuits take up most of my time and comprise a large chunk of my identity. Speaking more generally, though, I don't see any reason why intellect can't be like other attributes we assess in a mate: warmth, humor, stability, looks. I think that there is a fundamental difference between a) not placing as much value on a person's intellectual abilities and b) thinking you're smarter (or 'better') than them.
