SmartDude Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I am wondering if there is a certain "type" of man that just naturally more compatible with a woman who is younger than him. I kind of feel like that is the case for me. My parents were imigrants from europe, and had a very signifigant age gap. Seems to happen with relatives too. So growing up this is "normal" to me. Women my age make good friends lately, But that is about it. I have had relationships with both women older and younger than me. Yes, I was a late bloomer. Are there women who are just better suited to older men? Well, yes there are. But why? And for how long? If I had to explain my atraction, I would say it is because they are what I am not. It is like being from different worlds and trying to find a way to relate to each other. Oposites attract. This directly contadicts the experience which some people are seeking: Someone who is from their generation and understands them from that perspective. 1
Grumpybutfun Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I have dated older and younger and I think it really is subjective. Compatibility and attraction are based on the people, not their age. However, if you are a late bloomer and haven't the maturity of your peers, this may be about comfort ability in relating emotionally. Nothing wrong with doing what feels natural. Also, some women like older men because of stability. I just wouldn't rule out opportunities or possible love interests based on something as subjective as age. IMHO, Grumps 1

Relationships occur between people. Sometimes those people happen to have a large age gap, but the other elements of the relationship allow it to work. Sometimes, this isn't the case. It really varies a lot from person to person. That said, being on the same page with regards your stage of life and your plans for the future can be a major factor. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/communication-success/201210/7-keys-long-term-relationship-success

And I am not ashamed if my woman peers have matured faster than me. I went through some hard times as a young lad and had quite a bit of struggle before I coud say I was living instead of just surviving. But all that pain and turmoil is still experience...hmm. There is a line of thinking that says women mature emotionaly earlier in life than men. But then again what is maturity? When people say that I am very mature(42), at my age I feel like this is an insult! It is like saying this person is so mature that they are actually boring now. 1
WonderKid Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Most of the time I'd say that the women being young is a factor. They still have those vibrant looks and youth. Lol Also there are many women who don't mind dating older men because they have dealt with younger men who were so immature to them, they gradually like older men. Also older men seem to be more established in life.
casey.lives Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 yes. most men are better off with younger or and less experienced women. An older single woman is damaged and has been weathering life alone. she is less attractive and worthless

There are plenty of other threads saying that older women are damaged and used up and that men get more attractive with age. That is not what this is about. Weathering life alone can actually make you more attractive! Everyone enjoys a person who knows themselves deeply. 1
