Sara88 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Hi guys, So here's my dilemma: I met someone recently. I was in the airport going to visit my parents and the guy I crossed " paths" with was going on holiday . We exchanged numbers, start chatting on Whatsapp and we agreed to meet for dinner once he will be back ( he lives 70km away from my parents house). I accepted although I did not have high expectations. Our chats were very frugal, but he did not change his mind on going on a date together. The date exceeded my expectations. The guy was very charming, he booked a very nice restaurant. I enjoyed the evening and I felt very attracted to him. He was flirty, but very respectful and nice. The main issue is I live in a different country, he lives in Italy, works in Switzerland and France and has a very busy schedule. I am based in London for the moment. He travelled abroad immediately after our date and I won't be able to meet again before I finish my holidays. We did not organise anything next because I knew it would be useless. Plus he is just a guy I met in the airport, I don't know much about him. Not sure what to do now? Should I try and keep in touch with him or just forget him? He texted me after our date, but we do not speak daily, he is a busy guy and not very keen in chatting just for the sheer fun of it. Many thanks in advance for your advice

Many thanks in advance for your advice I'd probably say don't bother pursuing - long distance relationships are hard if you've known the person for a couple years - I can't imagine starting one with someone you don't even know. You'll hardly see him, you'll hardly know him...that's a friend (although could be FWB), not dating material. 1
Winterina Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I agree with the first reply. From my experience, it is hard to get to know someone and it is impossible if you are apart... In the meanwhile, you build some illusions on the basis of some days you now and then get to spend together. You fall in love. And then one of you moves and that is where s*** hits the fan. In 99% of the cases. There probably are success stories too but I haven't seen in real life any of those. There is a forum dedicated to LTRs here on LS too... look there for more. 1
Siquijor Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Someone who has a very busy schedule living in a different country who you hardly know......hmmmm.....not ideal is it? I suppose you could still keep in contact as friends and get to know him more. No harm in that.
