Usually a first date is all about getting to know each other, and there's more advice online for good first dates than trees in the forest. I'm having trouble finding good advice for a first date with someone I already know well. We have grown up knowing each other and are pretty good friends.

I welcome all suggestions and I hope this thread can be useful to other in a similar situation.

Ideas I have had so far:

-do some sort of activity (hike or biking) than shop for food and cook dinner together

-go to the mall and we can help pick out clothes that we'd look good in then go try to get into exclusive venues

please tell me if these ideas are good or crap and give your suggestions

First dates - or hundredth! I really enjoy road trips. To the beach or the mountains, or a winery, or a ghost town - where ever sounds interesting - and preferably somewhere new.

Car rides give plenty of time for talk and flirting, while the destination will hopefully be something to enjoy.

I am lucky to live in a part of the country where many things are a day trip away though.

You don't know each other in this romantic context. I'd design something romantic, to make it clear that you are moving on from just friends. A candle light dinner seems ideal to me. If you can't afford the big expensive restaurant dinner at home would be OK but pull out the good china. While a 1st date doesn't normally occur at home since you know each other there is no concern about a possible assault. Don't push for sex but do ramp up the romance.
