Why do guys decide to not take someone back to their place?

My friend and I were hanging out with a group of guys the other night (we were the only girls, there were more than two guys). One of them suggested we return to his place to continue to party, and another guy quickly shot him down and suggested we stay at that location instead. Why did he do that? Was it to not give the wrong impression since usually going back to someone's place means hooking up? What type of girls do you take back to a more secluded space? Should I take it as a compliment or as an insult?

There is too little information there.

 

It may have nothing to do with you at all, so why assume it's about you? It could be that his place is dirty and he's embarrassed or any other reason why he didn't feel like switching locations. I wouldn't read into it and assume it was about you.

You shouldn't be wasting time analyzing why did he do that, he may have a list of reasons and non of them may be really important.

It's definitely not a compliment tho. If it's something, may be he didn't find you attractive enough to want to escalate things in a more private space. But may be it's nothing to do with this, may be he was just having more fun there, having no interest in any of you, so he didn't want to move his ass and be lonely while you two are hooking up with the other guys in their place. So many reasons....

What you can be sure is this guy has no real interest in any of you. But his friend did...

Generally speaking, if a guy decides to NOT take a woman back to his place, it's one of two reasons:

 

#1: He has determined her to not be worthy of even a ONS; or

 

#2: He has determined she is worthy of so much more than a ONS.

 

 

Hope that clears it up for you, OP, and you now know where you stand! :bunny:

Dunno about that situation, but I won't let anyone know where I live, female or male. I'm living in an industrial shop that's 1/4 the cost of renting a small crappy house with less sq footage in a bad area. It's not zoned for habitation, but the landlord doesn't care as long as it's not obvious. I built a small apartment in the back, including plumbing. It's a great setup for super cheap. No way am I going to risk that by having some idiot drunk friend or wigged out girl, honking horns or causing a disturbance at 3am. Loose lips sinks ships.

 

 

It's comical & sad what some say to me, when I tell them I can't divulge where I live. Everything from; I'm living with my parents to having a secret family.

Two girls, several guys....it could have been a bit dangerous. The guy that killed the deal may have felt you could have gotten into a bad situation in going to the others place. He may have known something you didn't about the perspective host.

 

 

Maybe I am just too cautious but I would be thanking that guy if you had been my daughter.

Seriously, where were you guys at that you wanted to relocate from?

 

Was it one guy's place? Maybe "he" wanted to score at his place and didn't want you guys relocating to the other guy's place? I mean, I prefer guys to come to my place, cuz afterwards, I wanna get something to eat, watch some TV and/or sleep while they gotta drive back to their place!!! :laugh::D:laugh:

 

So, who knows, maybe his friend discouraged the relocation cuz where you guys were at (his place I presume) was convenient for him?

I'm thinking that if the guy has a gf or someone he's interested in he doesn't want her to know or think some chicks over at his place were there for him. It could also be that his place was dirty but drunk guys don't care about that if they are about to get laid.
