There's this woman I know that said

men in her area have major egos and whine

about being single because women don't go around

chasing them. I think she got shot down, and

she was ranting about how these men think

they are "all that" around here.

Then she said, "Learn to take a compliment from a friend"

I'm not sure why she followed up that rent with that statement though.

That they don't believe her when she says she wants

something casual. That she doesn't want a boyfriend.

That their egos are big enough to think that

and then they start to avoid her when they see her around town.

Now, this is where it gets sticky. What does she mean by "casual"?

Then she said "They could've had a good thing. No wonder they are

still single."

Anyhow, through the course of time

casual to some people could mean just a roll in the hay

or FWB's, but to others, it could mean spending money

on a date, but not getting anything in return?

It can also mean different things to men and women, yes? No? Thoughts?

How much was rent? Maybe she was stressed about paying it.

I didn't really understand your post, it was a bit incomprehensible.

As for this part though which I did understand:

It can also mean different things to men and women, yes? No? Thoughts?

It can mean different things to different 'people'.

It's not based upon gender. People each have their own thoughts and opinions on various things.
