Vercetti Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Yeah, I think it's all the more frustrating when you have a whole culture telling you how 'wrong' your way of being in the world is and that it can be 'fixed'. Anyone I know who is both unique and uninterested in being a sheep of the masses finds these sort of comments unhelpful. My advice is to consider how much negotiating you are willing to do around your identity. Be flexible and take risks in the areas that you can, and hold true to your values where it counts. You want someone to love you for you. I'm a contrarian, that has benifited me more then anything else in my life. The important things are not black and white. Not all norms are to be followed or rejected. Doing things different can be leadership. Not being a victom of society good place to start, it isn't real or cares if you exist. Yet it did create a landscape that's rather easy to play with.

Fair Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 It can feel like you're destined to be alone, for sure. But feeling that way doesn't mean it has to be that way or that it's 'destiny'. You need to work through your anxiety around men, that's all.
Fair Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 This might sound strange but taking Carl Jung's personality test and finding out your personality type might be beneficial to you. It explained me to myself and why I struggle with the issues I struggle with in life including relationships, and though it hasn't helped me find a partner it's at least allowed me to be a little more forgiving and understanding of myself as I fumble along... 1
