Like if the first couple of dates go well and he wants a girl to meet his friends and is eager about it and she meets his friends and they don't "click" well or have nothing in common, will that be a dealbreaker for him? Isn't it not enough that my date and I get along, but on top of that, if his friends don't like me, then that's the end? I almost feel like he wants me to join in on his social circle, but only time will tell the day that I meet them and how much they will like me. And of course they are tight-seeing that they have known each other for a long time. I can only imagine what kind of things his buddies will say about me to him...I mean, if he's that much into me and really likes me, will the opinion of his friends matter?

That depends on the individual you are dating, thankfully most mature people people don't need others to establish their own opinion on whom they are dating/interested in. It's great to be liked by the friends/family of someone you are seeing, but I trust my own judgement more than that of anyone else. If you are dating someone sensible, who has friends and family that are equally so, then you should not be worried about that, as they wouldn't question his judgement of you.
