Maxtor Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I read something very interesting days ago. It was about masculine energy. It was something along these lines: when guys have a purpose, a goal, something they want to achieve, a passion, women can feel this. Normally guys who are driven by the need to achieve something, specially related to their careers or future, whatever, women sense this, and they are atracted to it. Like magnets. For some of you, you may say that you knew this already, but, to me, was enlightening. Any thoughts?
PegNosePete Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Seems pretty obvious really. Guys with ambition, a purpose etc, are more confident and outgoing than guys who don't. Same goes for women. 2
jen1447 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I'm not sure that energy is specifically "masculine." 3

Anyone who is motivated to do something with their life is most likely to be stable in a relationship. People admire that quality. 1

Anyone who is motivated to do something with their life is most likely to be stable in a relationship. People admire that quality. I don't think it's the same. If a woman has it I don't think us guys will find her more attractive, at least physically or sexually, because of it. Actually if you think of 2 women, 1 is a a confident, independent, 'power woman' type and the other is a hopeless blonde with low self-esteem you can be sure that almost all guys would be more attracted to the one with no ambition. If getting in touch with your emotions is bringing out your 'feminine' side then being confident & driven towards a specific goal is definitely bringing out your 'masculine' side. You have got to be kidding. No way. Assuming all other factors are equal (not sure why you mention "blonde"; for this thought experiment to work hair colour and all other physical characteristics would be the same for both ladies).

It's only online where you get this BS guy. I mentioned blonde to make it more feminine. It's probably just me but when I think confident I think someone with dark hair (either male or female). Anyway if I was wrong then you'd see guys lining up to meet female celebs backstage, just like how girls with famous male musicians; it doesn't happen because to us a girl that looks like cara delevingne is as good as cara d. Author Maxtor Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 I'm not sure that energy is specifically "masculine." It is. Men and Women and equal in rights, but not in function. Our psyche is very different and after i read that, i talked to some female friends of mine and they agreed that, working men, as in, driven by passion or career goals are more attractive. Normally men go for nice bodies and nice faces lol, they dont need the girls to be driven. For some men thats kinda a turn off to be honest. 1

Not sure I agree with that, but even so, it would just be an energy that men and/or women may possess, but that women find attractive in men while men don't find it attractive in women. Thus not fundamentally and exclusively "masculine."

What would you describe bringing out your 'masculine' side as, or are you so feminist that you think there couldn't possibly be such a thing? I've always thought of things like being confident or inventive as bringing out your masculine side Edited August 10, 2015 by wb1988

I've always thought of things like being confident or inventive as bringing out your masculine side That implies a literal direct connection between confidence or inventiveness and masculinity, which is clearly not the case as many women are confident and inventive. OP didn't ask "what do you think is masculine or feminine?" so I'm not really interested in that discussion here. If you want to start a diff thread I'll give my opinions.
Author Maxtor Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Im not here comparing sex's. Men have more testosterone, which is the strenght hormone, it is normal for men to be more agressive in general terms. Females on the other hand, normally they have a support role. And that is not bad. Testosterone is have gives men willpower, thats why most of the inventions were made by men. Low test men, have depression or are considered beta males.
jen1447 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Maxtor, you seem to be carrying around a lot of preconceived notions about the sexes. Have fun with that.

jen1447 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I assume you mean I do too ....care to point mine out?
mrldii Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 ...Testosterone is have gives men willpower, thats why most of the inventions were made by men... Really? The inability to freely receive an education, being restricted from the work force, and being considered second-class citizens for thousands of years had nothing to do with it...it all comes down to the level of testosterone when inventing cool stuff?!? 2

I'm talking for long term, marriage, quality relationship. The dumb blonde would be just someone to lay a hump into.
Taramere Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I had an instinct, when I saw the title of this delightful thread, that it would be chock full of derogatory comments about women. And I was right! It's always been a reasonably popular brand of masculine energy on here. Popular amongst those who exude it, and also popular with flies and dungbeetles. 1
anduina Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Masculine energy is more about strength, whether strength of personality or physical strength.
