I thought I made myself clear in the previous seven pages what my thoughts and issues were, as well as my acknowledgement of what I think true feminism is and how I value it.

If I could change the thread topic, just so it pleases everyone's urge to argue semantics and be right, I would, but I can not. I'll tell you what, I will page a moderator, and politely ask him to change the title just so that I don't step on anyone's toes any longer.

That would be great if you got a Mod to change the title to "Excessive MISANDRIST Comments", since that's really what you're saying.

While YOU may have corrected your stance later on, the title still begs for those just discovering this thread to add their comments which are also about "misandrists", NOT "feminists".

It's not about arguing semantics or being right; it's about starting a topic which claims to be about "Polar Ice Caps" and spending the entire OP and subsequent posts discussing plants in the tropics. One is as far removed from the other as one can possibly be.

NEW TOPIC TITLE! WOOT. Thanks Mod (William?)

Now, specifically my question was do brash comments signify ball busting man haters or just fed up normal women? Am I missing out by not ever messaging these women, despite them liking my profile/sending me a message first?

Though I think several have already answered. Many think it would be a bad date.

When the shoe is on the other foot (that is, when dealing with men who are making similar comments about women), I avoid.

I figure they really ARE misogynists (which means it's in any woman's best interest to avoid) or they *just* act/think like one because they've decided after the treatment they've received by some women, all women are like that.

I am tooooooooo old to teach that old dog new tricks...and to remind them that -perhaps - they should try a different type of woman from the many types that are out there.

I'd think the same would apply for men who run into misandrists...or women who act/think like one due to her experiences with some men.

Best of luck to you, OP...

a woman that was automatically given merit because she has a vagina.
THAT is misogynistic. I am sorry that this woman almost ruined your career - but what makes you think she was given merit because of her vagina? Maybe she had a compelling case or was exceptionally machiavellian???:confused:

A woman who wanted to weed out misogynists would pass you by if she read that. But anyway, you should be happy if she did because I know you would be terribly unhappy with each other! So you are weeding HER out at the same time!

Regarding your link - it is presenting itself as a neutral site. Its real agenda is easy to understand and I know you understand it yourself!! :p:p I mean - men are victims of domestic abuse MORE than women are? Srsly dude! I mean I don't want to get into a "who is the biggest victim" war!!! But anyway, just go to the CDC website they have stats on domestic / partner violence, rape, stalking, etc. Men are victims of those things for sure and it's just as bad when they are!!! But the stats ...

Good point, R Rosebud. It really made me think. I never attributed a co-worker’s gunning for me or anyone else to his genitals or gender. I just attributed it to his being devious or a jerk.

Nahhhh...I'm not "half right", half wrong, or any percentage of right or wrong; that's not my definition of the word...it's Mr. Merriam's and Mr. Webster's. You'll have to take it up with them.

It's spelled the way it is because "equalism" was already taken and means something all-encompassing and includes racism, which is another focused study of inequality.

Well, even if I'm wrong about that feminism is and will always be from the standpoint of promoting women's rights (or extra rights) — I've never heard a feminist promote equality when it was to the detriment of women.

There may be some women who have been convinced by the Internet that they aren't "feminists" but I call BS. Wait until someone comes along and tells them they can't go to school, leave the house uncovered and without a male relative, that they're being auctioned off to the neighbor for some livestock and we'll see who isn't a feminist.

This is why the world doesn't take feminism seriously anymore. Feminists once comprised of people (not just women) that saw serious gender discrimination in society, but now that it's all over pretty much all feminists are just the ugly girls that were picked on (or rather never picked up by guys) at school.

It's not black and white. You make it seem like if you are for equality then you therefore must be a feminist, that's the most narrow-minded ****. Just because I'm a capitalist doesn't mean I'm for the republicans and just because I believe in some sort of state healthcare doesn't mean I'm a socialist.

This is why it's hard to take some men seriously. What a heinously close-minded thing to say. When you say "the world" doesn't take feminism seriously, what you really mean is "the people I see in my preferred subreddits". Believe it or not, "the world" understands there's more to feminism than twentysomethings on Tumblr. Paid maternity leave is almost unheard of in the United States (even Pakistan offers eight weeks). Women in Afghanistan are killed for learning to read. Women in Saudi Arabia can own companies but not drive. All of these things are important, relevant, and deserve our best efforts. If feminism is "all over pretty much" to you it's because you're not paying attention.

There is still gender discrimination. If you've never been asked to fetch the coffee, been mistaken for the secretary, or been told to smile more, you just don't know what you're talking about. You're post reeks of male privilege.

I'm a feminist and I'll proudly own that. I've also had absolutely no trouble attracting men, was one of the "popular kids" (gag) growing up, and am objectively good looking. Not that any of that should matter a whit as to my worth as a human being - but from your posts, it appears that women are only useful as eye candy.

Feminists would do well to avoid men like you, and if stating that they are feminists in their OLD profiles serves to scare misogynists like you away, then hey! It's working!!

If one can claim a more violent gender.. then one can claim a smarter gender and a more logical gender and a more hysterical gender. Just sayin.

Except that "smarter" and "more logical" are subjective and open to interpretation, whereas "violent" has statistics to make a claim on.

Now if you want to say "most college educated" or "most likely to file divorce" or "most likely to drive a Corvette", or something else that can be quantified, then yes, you can make a claim that one gender is different than the other.

I disagree that the term "more logical" is subjective due to the fact that logic itself is mechanical, can be quantified and is taught as such.

I'll agree that being "smarter" can be subjective since the phrase itself is loosely applied to many things and frequently in an ironic capacity.

OP. You're going to run into "Feminazis" while OLDing.

Note they are not Feminists they are in fact Female Chauvinists who feel entitled to eternal victimhood and thus must be pitied, agreed with and catered to or you'll get pregnancy scares, tantrums, false police reports and/or spurious litigation. These Women believe that double-standards only apply to Men and that if a Woman is using it it's only fair since Men "get away with it" etc.

You'll note the majority of the "logic" employed by these Women is in fact fallacious.

These are BAD Women and we need to leave them to idiotic "Men" so that their progeny are increasing incapable of surviving and become a self-solving problem.

You don't want a Woman with even a hint of this in her psyche anyways.

Equality is not detrimental to any group. That is why it is called EQUALity. :D If one group historically had all, or most of the rights, members of that group might experience some loss when it all gets spread around.

I think men with this viewpoint see feminism as detrimental to men, because they lose their privilege when genders are on an equal playing field.

(I see that was the point you made but i second it )
