Author seixal Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 So, after you spent all that time explaining how you're not really racist, you came back making the one single comment that suggested you just might be, again?!? Interesting playing strategy... Where is the racism?
sandylee1 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Now as far as me being racist or ignorant by using just "Asian", I think that's a little bit exaggerated, to say the least. In the US at least, when someone says "Asian" the first thing that comes to people's mind is an individual of Far Eastern Asian ancestry, not someone from the Indian subcontinent, for instance, despite being both geographically Asian. The same goes for African Americans, that everyone picture with black skin overlooking people of White South African, or North African ancestry. And the same goes for the people called Latinos that everyone picture with brown skin and Amerindian, when people living in the real Latium are White Europeans. These are all incorrect, imperfect categories that only make sense in the American context. I didn't say your use of 'Asian ' was racist, it was your use of the term 'slanted eyes', it's not complementary and it wasn't necessary to make your point or ask for views. The rest of your explanation makes little sense to me, but not to worry about that. As far as your attraction for Asian girls, it's not racist, it's just your preference. Lots of people are attracted to people from other ethnici groups and that doesn't make them racist. I was in college with a white guy who said he liked Asian girls and I asked if he had a specific reason for that. He said it's because they were petite.
loveflower Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 He said it's because they were petite. really? so men like petite women? why? isn't taller look more beautiful? I thought men like long legs? um...I always thought that as a shortcoming. I am 157cm. but I hate being short. I always want to be taller, so I don't have to alter pant etc...

I used "slanted eyes" to emphasize how my attraction to Asian women was not meaning to essentialize them to their race. It was used as a figure of speech in the same fashion as "Yellow fever". It wasn't intended for a belittling or hateful purpose. My apologies if that offended you. By the same token I would like to bring your attention when you say "I was in college with a white guy" you are identifying someone using a racial feature. They're not just a guy, they are a whiteguy, which automatically made him potentially guilty of yellow fever. But I understand it wasn't meant to be racist or hateful on your end, so I am not offended. I know that as a white person, whether you love or hate, you are a preferred suspect of racism.
SSJROMANCE Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 No not at all. Everyone has their own attraction. I was coming back from a trip from China and met a guy who taught english there for several years. One thing I remember him saying is that Asians don't age well. Every since then I have noticed exactly what he was saying. Not that that should stop you but it was something I hadn't noticed before he said something.

Not that that should stop you but it was something I hadn't noticed before he said something. That's the opposite from what I've noticed. Seems like Asian women generally age better than white women. I suspect it's a cultural thing. Westerners love going to the beach and exposing themselves to the sun, and that damages the skin. But in Asian countries, it's not uncommon to see women carry umbrellas on sunny days because they won't want to be exposed to the sun. I've seen many white women in their 20s with very wrinkly skin, and a lot of Asian women in their 30s with perfectly smooth skin. Those Asian women frequently appear 10-15 years younger than they really are.

I farmed when I was young and we didn't have sunscreen, so my skin was exposed to the sun alot. but my skin was still smooth and white before I came to N.A.
loveflower Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I once was a nightclub and got approached by a white guy and said his friend like Asian girls. I was so turned off and disgusted by that. I am me. I think I am very different than everybody else. He probably thought that was a good pickup line. but it actually offended me totally. I want someone to like me because of me, something particular of me. Not because I am a member of some race. and don't stereotype. I am very Asian but I don't have slanted eyes. I am double eyelid and round. none of my family members is slanted eyed either. 1
hotpotato Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I think its good. Later you can move on to black girls. There are many of the same benefits like aging better. Black people dont sunbathe like white people do. Staying out of the sun works wonders. White men and asian women pairings are not taboo. Im assuming you are white. 1

However when guys say they are attracted to Asian girls it really means they are attracted to Good looking Asian girls. As I said before I am attracted to Asian girls, now this doesn't mean I am into every single having a Far East Asian appearance, only those that I find attractive which is not all, probably not most, Just like White girls in the end. I think the real Asian women fetiche is really exaggerated and doesn't really exist outside of martial arts/ manga geeks.
Zagan Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 You said you were attracted to every Asian girl 'with slanted eyes'..Now it's not all..only the ones you find attractive.. But you mention guys when they say they are attracted to Asian girls it's only the good looking ones.. What's the difference between them and you? Obviously we are only attracted on a physical looks only basis to people we perceive as 'good looking' .. You've taken one look at the replies and tried to wriggle out of the fact you find Asian women endearing because you bought into the stereotype that they're submissive subservient western guy pleasers. There was an article in a paper here in Belfast not long ago about the differences between western schools and students and Asian schools and students. On average they are at a much higher standard than we are (not to say more educated) .. So if I were you I'd stick to trying to 'woo' Asian women who were born and raised in the western world because they are no different to caucasians, although just as likely to tell you to sod off. 1
Zagan Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 And stop watching porn.. It's turning yer mind to mush. 1

Sigh...The problem with online forums is that when posts are more than 2 sentence people don't read. I recently realized that Over the past couple of years I developed an interest in Asian girls I. I think they are very feminine and good-looking. Probably I find them exotic too, there is a large Asian community where I live in Southern California. Now this doesn't mean that I'm attracted to every single girl with slanted eyes. While I think Asian girls are attractive overall, I obviously don't think every single one of them is hot and I am attracted to white girls too. After doing some research online, I could quickly realize how White men are shamed, belittled, ridiculed for being attracted to Asian women. This is what I said. Maybe you should stop dividing your attention between forum and some 80's porn. Just saying.
Zagan Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Hello, I recently realized that Over the past couple of years I developed an interest in Asian girls I. Do you think it's bad or racist to be attracted to Asian girls? My tastes in porn don't make me look at women as sex objects because I'm so insecure that the notion of believing someone is submissive will make up for my shortcomings as a man. You spoke of 'guys only liking good looking Asian women' and then said you only like the Asian women you are 'attracted to' again, what is the difference between you and them? You are attracted to what you perceive as 'good looking' the same way as they are. If you were even alive in the 80s you'd know that porn in those days was nothing like now My advice.. Stick to pulling your pud and leave the Asian women to the smart fellas who can interact with them on an intellectual level.

Yes, there is no difference between others and myself which means that the vast majority of men expressing interest in asian girls do so based on personal good looks/personality criteria, and do not have any yellow fever nor see in asian women sex slaves. But you thought I had changed my statement from my initial post. The deal here is that you wanted to rudely call me out on something you had misread. It's ok to make a mistake, but rather than admitting it and apologizing like a man you just decided to make pseudo personal attacks which is what people do when they have no arguments to prove their point. Fair enough. Edited August 9, 2015 by seixal

I don't think sunbathing really ages you unless you're just out there everyday for several years. It's genetics, black people practically stop aging after 40. It's weird.

But I understand it wasn't meant to be racist or hateful on your end, so I am not offended. I know that as a white person, whether you love or hate, you are a preferred suspect of racism. My use of white, was purely descriptive and in the context racism doesn't even come close. If I just said a guy I went to college with liked Asian women, it wouldn't have made much sense. If someone described me as a black female, there is nothing racist about that at all. I didn't say anything about yellow fever. It was just saying how others are attracted to a race outside of their own, like yourself. I'm not here to cause contention, I just pointed out something as I saw it. Perhaps I pay closer attention to these things, because equality and diversity is a large part of my profession. People often say things not realising how it might come over. I disagree that as a white person you're a suspect of racism, it depends on you as a person and the fact that you find Asian women attractive , would not lead me to accuse you of being racist. I would also point out though, that some people like Asians , but not black people. As a black person, I've been racially abused by an Asian person. It works several ways and it's not only a case of white people being racist.
