NikiTheGamer Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I've been dating my boyfriend for over 6 months now and his mother's birthday is comming up. I would've just gotten her a card wishing her a happy birthday, except she (and my boyfriend's sister) got me a present for my birthday and I'm not sure if she expects one in kind. I don't want to start something, for example, my boyfriend may then feel it's expected of him to get my parent a birthday gift. It's unlikely that I'll see him or his mother on her birthday, but I'm still not sure on what I should do. Thanks to all replies made
SallyU Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 How about a card with a nice bouquet of flowers? Need not be over the top. It's a nice gesture but not so extravagant that people feel the need to reciprocate. Do it from kindness of your heart only with no expectations implied and it should be fine.
Author NikiTheGamer Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Thanks. I'm never too sure with gift-giving, so this is brilliant advice
TweetyGirl Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 How about a pretty card with some roses? You could even give her a gift card to a place she enjoys. Simple but sweet.
mrs rubble Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Seeing as how she bought you something, I think you should get her something, as the above posters have suggested, flowers are good, or a box of chocolates or bottle of wine. Something simple.
