Why do you think he invited ME to this event? we don't really click

A guy i know recently invited me to come with him and his close friend (a girl) to an event he got free tickets for. it's a dressy event. I honestly was not sure if i could make it, so I told him that he should ask other people because I did not want to hold him up. He responded, "I can't think of anyone else."

The thing is that I feel like he and I don't even click. not only that, he dates regularly. i learned that he just went out with someone last week, and he does the online dating. I feel that this event would've been the perfect event to bring a date, and since the tickets were free, he didn't need to use ALL the tickets, it could've been just him and the date. the other thing that was weird was that near the end of the evening he seemingly gave me the silent treatment for no apparent reason. I even poked him physically (gently, playfully, friendly...nothing painful!) to get a reaction and he didn't even FLINCH! either this guy has no sensory nerve endings in his skin, or he decided he didn't want to speak to me.

anyways, that is beside the point. Does it sound like he really dislikes me? I mean why invite me in the first place and then ignore me?

Don't get me wrong, i did thank him for inviting me. i wasn't unappreciative, just confused.

I want to add that i've nver noticed him complain about his love life. But then again i'm not close with him. But his friend complains on his behalf. Saying he goes after the wrong girls

But it sounds to me like he has a new girl every week. I think he already found a new girl already. Yet he goes to weddings single and he never brings a date. Is this a secret double life? Intriguing.
