CurlyIam Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 I've decided to post this here, because it's an interesting subject. who do you confess to the minute you're having issues to your SO? I used to do so with a friend of mine, but she went back home - Guadalupe. So now I'm back to my sister, but she lives so far away and we haven't seen eachother in quite some time... she gives great advice, is very down to Earth and isn't afraid to be blunt with me when I'm wrong. Anyway, my bf talks to his parents. How uncommon is that? He still lives with them and he's very close to his mom, but it makes me sooooo uncomfortable, because I get along very very well with them. In the same time, I want to keep everyone out, 'cause I do want my privacy! His mom gives him great advice, but I still find it odd! So who's No.1 on your list when you're low because of your SO?

SadAndLonely Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Occasionally here, although there hasn't been much to post about in a long while. When I start feeling insecure, though, I call my best friend. He's a guy, and has a degree in psych, and loves me tremendously, so he's always able to help.
whynotme Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 I talk with my twin,she lives 3 streets away from me,she is my best friend,I have no female friend ,because I compare them to her (sister) and none can compete. She is very smart even though I have been through more then she will ever have to go through,she does make me wake up and smell the coffee.

KissMyTiara Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 While I do it allllll the time because of how close we are, I really, really try to avoid talking about the "bad stuff" with close friends or my family. Know why? Because they only remember the bad stuff, and they are so darn intent on protecting you that they sometimes inadvertently (I hope it's not intentional!) give me bad advice... I find it's easier to talk to strangers (here) or acquanitences, especially when the majority of the "bad stuff" is really just gripes, anyway, and not deserving of more than 5 minutes of someone's time.

Thats exactly why I like to save the really heavy, crappy stuff for My Patients.. I wait until they are half sedated and drugged then spill My life out and see what they can come up with... JK JK JK! I do know what you're saying....

Maybe talk with my sisters, a couple friends at work (maybe), another good girl friend, and a good guy friend. i do not know who my bf talks to. i would think his parents. he is really close with his father. I would not tell my parent anything too personal unless it was blatantly obvious.
