I mean, I have seen attractive people make fools of themselves also, and it made them not dateworthy in an instant. I don't know what it is, just some people can pull it off and some can't. Not to mention there is this obese guy that was in a class of mine last semester who was so FUNNY. He had us all laughing so hard no sound would come out He could make a complete fool of himself and it was sooo hilarious. We all told him he really needed to try to get on SNL...So I don't think it is always looks that makes someone be able to get away with acting a fool.... but anyway.. I don't agree with this. Good-looking guys are often such bores. I agree that that can be the case a lot of times. That, or the extremely hot people are usually so full of themselves that it makes them become unattractive. (or well sometimes even the average looking people can think they are quite a bit hotter than they actually are - anyone watch Sarah W. from the Bachelor this season? Good example right there: "If I had just been a little bit uglier! I mean, I am so pretty that is why girls always hate me, it's a blessing and a curse to be so beautiful"...ETC ETC) The girl was AVERAGE looking. ugh, don't get me started on her... To be attractive, and not really aware of it, have charisma, be able to make people laugh, make a fool of yourself and it actually be funny....be at least moderately intelligent..now THEN you have the whole package!
RecordProducer Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 I think if a woman is after a serious long-term relationship, she will not be attracted to a drunk guy making a fool of himself if she has never met him before. Unless she had been with some moody and grumpy boring guy with no sense of humor so she sees the silly guy as the other extreme of it and finds it attractive as the opposite of the thing that bothered her before. The girl who gave you the phone number probably liked you physically and didn't see anything bad in what you were doing. Just don't think that women go crazy about guys getting drunk and singing on the chair barely managing to not fall!
blind_otter Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Thanks guys. He is so dreamy. Even though he has to repeat himself 20 times because I can't understand his accent. I think unattractive people really DO get away with less, like if you are unattractive you have to be hella funny or hella charming, otherwise you end up looking doofy. Cute girls can get away with looking doofy, for instance, and cute guys -- now super hot people, on the other hand, look like they have masks on to me, for some reason.
moimeme Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Drunk = unattractive. OTOH, if a person can do something silly and fun when not drunk, that's a big plus. But it has to be funny silly, not stupid silly - and not everyone can distinguish where that fine line lies.
