smackie9 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I have a question..... is it a regular occurrence that men can get smitten with you? Do other men around you ask you out or show interest?
Author Cirilla Posted September 16, 2015 Author Posted September 16, 2015 A few guys here and there make it known. If people being smitten with me is a regular occurrence, I don't know about it. I know that in that particular industry (which happens to be male-dominated), I'm generally liked and trusted. Not sure about romantic interest, though.
smackie9 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Well IMO it's possible you are letting your feelings see things that are not there, which is leading you to misinterpreting his actions.
Author Cirilla Posted September 16, 2015 Author Posted September 16, 2015 Yes, I think that's what happened. On an objective look, a lot of guys do the things he did (except the hair-stroking). I should add that I am very tomboy-ish and share in the hobby that is the basis of the industry I'm in, and that has made me approachable for professional/platonic relationships. If any of them have actually been interested, I haven't ever known about it (except the long-term boyfriend I once had who first introduced himself to me at a networking event and asked me out a few weeks later). I mostly just feel like an idiot for myself and my friends having read into the situation, but I'll take a learning experience.
henderson14 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Take it from someone who has been there... Don't swim in the company pool. I promise you that the very short lived thrill of your romantic conquest doesn't outweigh the negatives. Been there, done that and have the scars to prove it. Work is already stressful enough without adding that drama into the mix. Geeze people. Learn to read. These posts aren't that long. The guy isn't at the same company and they don't work together. it's already been pointed out twice!
