hakim Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 So I got chatting to this girl on a dating website a few days ago, and things were looking good. We ended up exchanging numbers and she does seem open to meeting up. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if it's OK if I ask her out by text to go bowling this weekend? I haven't texted her via mobile phone, we used the dating app at the time. Thanks.
nouedis Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I mean, honestly you can ask her out through text, but maybe give her a call and hear her voice and let her hear yours. I'm sure she'd love to hang out with you if all is going well for you and her.
PogoStick Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 If she gave her number then yes she wants a date. Call and ask her!
d0nnivain Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 It's never OK to ask somebody out via text. Phone / voice is always the preferred method. If for no other reason you will set yourself apart from all the other guys on the site who do hide behind their devices.
Author hakim Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) If she gave her number then yes she wants a date. Call and ask her! I was a wee bit sceptical when she sent over her phone number (stupid reason). She did tell me she has met 2 other people on the site too. Also she lives maybe 20 minute car drive away. It's perfectly fine to move from the site/app to asking out via text.
d0nnivain Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 20 minutes is not that far away. Many people travel over an hour each day just to go to work. Everybody on a dating site meets multiple people. It's to be expected. You are looking for excuses not to act.

Why should that hold you back from contacting her and dating her? And just because she's met other people on the site isn't a reason not to contact her and ask her out.
