Let me clarify a few things. We chatted on Match for a couple of days, exchanged numbers, and started texting. Everything was great until she didn't respond to a text I sent asking if she had any particular dating goals. After five days of not hearing back I sent another text asking if she'd be free to grab some ice cream that week. That's when she responded saying she had went to the pool a few days ago when her phone overheated and lost all her contacts, which is why she hadn't responded. Then she said she was out of town for the next two weeks so we couldn't meet until she got back. I noticed she had a FB post about being at a pool a few days ago and then later on she posted about being on vacation, so that seemed to validate what she was saying. While she was gone she also texted me pictures, but we never communicated on FB. The friend request was early on, so I don't think that has anything to do with her interest. We didn't text a lot when she was gone, but towards the end of her trip I asked if she wanted to get together the next week and she said "sounds good!". The day I knew she got back I asked her out and no response for 10 days. I was going to write her off but asked if she was still interested in meeting. That's when she claimed she never got the last text asking her out, which is hard to believe. At that point we narrowed down a date but of course she flaked out the next day. I don't feel like I chased but rather stayed in touch. She just led me on.

I understand what you're saying FF and it's good advice, but 99% of the people I experience online are flakes. It's not like I stopped pursuing other girls while talking with this one, so it didn't prevent me from seeing anyone else.

Lots of girls just love the ego boost from guys wanting them. You eventually learn to weed these types out and not put up with the BS.
