ouchthathurts Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 About two weeks ago, I experienced pain while having sex with my boyfriend. This had never happened before. I thought maybe I was having an allergic reaction to a new type of condom, but the next day the entire area around the vaginal opening had become very irritated and hurt to touch. I went to the doctor, who said it was vaginitis/yeast infection and gave me a 7-day course of treatment, which I stuck to religiously. I finished the treatment a few days ago. But tonight, when we tried to have sex, it hurt again! Only now it's like the pain is sharper and centralized in one small spot. It's almost like he's hitting a button or something everytime he thrusts. Nothing else hurts. Could my doctor have been wrong, is it something more serious? Has anyone else experienced this? I'm really scared there might be something really wrong with me...
tiki Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 When you went to the doc, did he do a cervical exam or pap smear? Or just prescribe you meds? When was your last pap smear? Sounds like something more than Vaginitis (inflammation) or a yeast infection, I'd get it checked (if you haven't already had a thorough examination). Please keep in mind that some infections, STD's, etc. are transferrable. If the other partner is not treated, it can be carried back and forth, even if the other partner is treated. Yeast infections are pretty rare for a male to catch, but it does happen. Although it doesn't sound like that's the problem....it seems more like a different type of issue. Maybe it's a cyst? I'm not very familiar with those. But if it continues, you should maybe have a pelvic ultrasound to get everything checked out. Nonetheless, good luck.
