aliya34 Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 i joined this online dating website... i was browsing through profiles and found this AMAZING sounding guy. everything about us was exactly alike, it was sort of creepy. so after i made my profile and waited for it to be approved... which took a day... i checked back to see his profile and contact him. and now he's gone! "user no longer available." talk about rotten luck! he doesn't show up anymore. i searched for others like him, but alas, found none. what do you think happened? maybe he got married?

Guys like to check the dating scene even if they are in love with someone else. Always ask a guy whether he is seeing someone else. Of course, he may lie to you, but he probably won't if you just ask him. If he answers something like "Nahhh, nothing serious...", it means he's seeing someone. Maybe this guy got disappointed in the dating site. Try some other dating sites, his profile might still be there.

This exact same thing happened to me! Saved the profile of the guy i was interested in, by the time my profile was approved etc he had gone. it turns out he'd been really let down by the process of online dating and was just giving up, but he DID get my contact and immediatly got his credit card out and signed back up. So you never know he may come back. Or it could be that he had his profile upa nd frogot about it, meanwhile he got himself a girlfriend. Only when your contact came in he suddenly remembered he still had a profile on the site and removed it. Could go either way, don't count on him coming back but do check in a few days just incase his subscription had simply lapsed.

jen03 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 There's always a reason behind why people - like you - do things. There was a reason why you didn't contact him right away. If he really sounded all that great, you wouldn't have waited for your profile to get "approved". Match takes a while I've heard to get your photo listed, but not your profile. Was it because maybe something bothered you about him? Did he sound cocky/arrogant? Did it sound too good to be true? Don't let the fact that "oh now he's gone" blur out all those other factors that made you hesitate to begin with. Don't lose sight of the bad just to make yourself lovesick and regretful. Because oftentimes I've noticed people have a tendency to do that...
