BS exchange for OW theory

I was talking about MM to a friend the other day and he told me of his theory:

 

Let's say in satisfaction scale from 1 to 10

 

MM values his M as a 5;

 

He sees the OW as a 9;

 

But the pain and transition would cost him a 7;

 

That leaves the M with the same 5 and the OW with only a 2.

 

Maybe it's stupid, but somehow it made sense to me.

 

I can see the logic in this.

 

I think when my H (fMM) recognised that his fBW was a -12, and the pain and trauma of leaving would only be a -7, it made sense to him to leave.
