Superman2024 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I've seen a couple of threads about cold approaching recently which motivated me to give it a try. There was this sweet, cute girl I kept seeing at Lowe's and I finally got the nerve to approach her today and have a conversation. With her being at work we got interrupted twice so I ended up having to approach her three different times! Luckily it went pretty well since I don't think I creeped her out or annoyed her, lol. She said she had a boyfriend though, so I didn't get her number. This wasn't easy for me considering I'm a bit introverted and have very little dating experience, but I just tried to keep eye contact, smile, and think of things to ask her. I went into this looking to improve my confidence and not really expecting it to lead to anything, which helped take some pressure off. 2
Author Superman2024 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 Ha, I wouldn't call it a failure since we both walked away smiling. If I had chickened out again I'd say it was a failure! 3
joseb Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Good job. Not sure if cadet was serious about it being a failure? Don't see how it could be so construed. All this cold approach talk got me to try one for first time in ages. I forgot how nervous you feel just before approaching, but once you have "crossed the rubicon" and there is no going back, it's ok. Like you my only objective was friendly banter and I left with a smile too 1
Author Superman2024 Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 It's hard to step out of your comfort zone but it's usually worth it, especially with something like this where the reward could be high.
