By Monday I told him I didn't want to do this over messages could we meet and speak about it, he said he needed time to think?!?!? That was a week ago and I haven't heard anything since Why would he pour his heart out to me but not meet face to face, I feel like a fool

That means forever, period, or else I'm just setting myself up for failure. Ugh. What we put ourselves through for love. I'm really sorry he got your hopes up. I hope you will bounce back ASAP.

Dumpers like to know the dumped are still there as a fall back in case their new singleness isn't what they hoped for. You provided the answer, he built his ego back up and vanished again. Don't fall for his BS again. Stay NC for good this time. You shouldn't really consider getting back w/him again anyway as it RARELY ever works out any length of time.
