Am I saying that your family would assume she would lie because she is black?

No, but the fact of the matter is that she did lie. I am well aware that women of every ethnicity have been guilty of doing so.

Statistically speaking, her actions have played into an established stereotype. If I was racist, which I am not, that little nugget wouldn't escape my attention. However, of course I have no idea how your family will think or react. I hope that they are welcoming and accepting of your relationship, girlfriend and child.

I'm a little confused here, bc I thought OP stated at the beginning that the fam at the very least was intolerant. (MIL would disown him if he married a black woman, etc.) If that's the case, it's not much of a stretch to construe racist tendencies from that, and not much of a stretch for that to manifest in quickly attaching to any available stereotypes that pop up like Timshel said. So I don't really get OP's objection to the premise.

Thank you for understanding where I was coming from. The thread title expresses a concern about racism and when I addressed it, I became the racist, lol. It's a very touchy subject. :(

This is a really tough situation and I sincerely hope the best for the OP and all involved.

It's too bad she is 3months pregnant ... no abortion possible.

But at least you found out about this before marriage and more kids.

Her future is clear ... she screwed herself something fierce, you will have to be the responsible parent in the child's life.

Doesn't mean i agree with them or appreciate the inferences. Deal with that nonsense enough.

They are both to blame.

You can have an abortion up to 24 weeks, here in the UK at least. Be surprised if it's literally half that in USA.
