Bobbi7 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Recently I exchanged numbers with this guy, we had a bad storm yesterday and he texted if I had the chance to drive out in the thunderstorm, then he said the he "got wetter walking to his car than a group of housewives at a Magic Mike premier." I was like ok. A visual came into my mind. 1
d0nnivain Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 It's a bit vulgar. The Q is how do you feel about it? 4
autumnnight Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Eh, it's too long and involved to be a text quip. He needs to hone his craft. 1
Empyrea Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Sounds like he was just trying to be funny. It's all about compatible senses of humour. Do you normally laugh at his jokes? 1
Versacehottie Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 i agree with donnivan, your choice to decide how you feel about it. If someone I hadn't met before, who was hoping to date me, said something that crude to me, I think it shows his true colors. Likely just wants sex, turn conversation to sex and not truly caring how I view him as well as poor judgement if that is just his sense of humor. Not that funny.
Gary S Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I would have never said that. It's difficult to find a gentleman today! 1
Keenly Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I thought it was funny too..... It's funny because housewives don't get wet! Boom. Come.on Gary, don't make me turn this into a serious discussion by asking if jokes void a man's gentlemenlyness. 3
Redhead14 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Recently I exchanged numbers with this guy, we had a bad storm yesterday and he texted if I had the chance to drive out in the thunderstorm, then he said the he "got wetter walking to his car than a group of housewives at a Magic Mike premier." I was like ok. A visual came into my mind. Sometimes guys (girls too) say things without thinking. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on it right now. Maybe it's just a blip. Yeah, it's off color and maybe not the best thing to say to someone you hope to date, but then again, we could go all down into censorship and the various types of humor and people's sensitivities and sensibilities and, and, and. You liked him enough to give your number, do you like him enough to give a pass on this? It's such a personal choice. Just file this under "things I gotta pay attention to with this one" and if you see him observe whether he's forward or continues to be sexual, then next him. If I heard this on TV, I would have laughed probably, but if I were in your shoes, yeah, I'd be reticent. 2
Gary S Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Edit: But redhead, guys do that a lot - too much in my opinion. This woman's complaint is very common, unfortunately. You can do clean jokes. But I know it's hard with this MTV generation. Mature women today prefer a gentleman. That's just the way it is. 2

xcupid Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 It's not a nasty message unless you think it is. It's on the slightly crude side, but, then again, he's being a guy. And guys are like that. He's maybe testing you and leading with sexual innuendos to see how you respond. Caution flag for now. 3
yxalitis Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 In what possible way could this be considered: "nasty"? Crude, vulgar, uncivilised, inappropriate..but nasty...No. 2
todreaminblue Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Edit: But redhead, guys do that a lot - too much in my opinion. This woman's complaint is very common, unfortunately. You can do clean jokes. That's just the way it is. true gary...but as ladies.....we are meant to be compassionate understanding and forgiving...everyone stuffs up now and again....its also quite easy to say what you dont really appreciate to give a gentleman an idea of where not to go and where the boundaries are..........deb 1
Omei Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Its a funny joke esp when you picture a comedian on stage saying it, but I guess not so much when you're just meeting someone and talking though text. 2
Art_Critic Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 The joke had a purpose.. as crude as it was and being funny he turned the conversation over to sex.. the ice was broken on his end.. Was it a failure? you thought about sex and that is what he wanted, to have his name seen next to a woman getting wet in her head... It's foundation, expect more
Stupid Sexy Flanders Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Recently I exchanged numbers with this guy, we had a bad storm yesterday and he texted if I had the chance to drive out in the thunderstorm, then he said the he "got wetter walking to his car than a group of housewives at a Magic Mike premier." I was like ok. A visual came into my mind. That's a great line, but it depends on your sense of humor. It's only vulgar if you're not into blue comedy.
Toodaloo Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Edit: But redhead, guys do that a lot - too much in my opinion. This woman's complaint is very common, unfortunately. You can do clean jokes. But I know it's hard with this MTV generation. Mature women today prefer a gentleman. That's just the way it is. It was just a silly joke! If you are a bit prim then yes it could be offensive but I don't see anything at all wrong with this joke. I am in the giggle camp... If you guys think this is vulgar you should hear some of the other jokes that men tell! Stop being so prissy! Accept that men do like to think about sex! He was trying to make you laugh thats all... 1
lollipopspot Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I think if you haven't met someone, to joke about women being wet is crude. To each their own, but to me, I'd want a guy who keeps it a little more classy. 3
Arieswoman Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I think it's funny in the right situation.... If a girlfriend says it to me = funny Comedian says it on stage = very funny Guy I hardly know says it = not funny 7
elaine567 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Well it really depends what you think about it. Was is a step too far for you, full stop? OR Did you not find it at all amusing as you are not a blue, dirty joke girl kind of a girl and he disrespected you by saying it? OR Did you not find it funny? OR Did you find it a bit offensive, crude or vulgar? OR Did you find it funny but felt it was a bit inappropriate as you did not appreciate the leap into sex talk as you hardly know him and it made you feel uncomfortable maybe? OR Did it sound contrived in that he was deliberately trying to get the subject onto sex? OR Did you just find it very funny and it broke the ice and you both genuinely laughed... 1
elaine567 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 It's funny because housewives don't get wet! Boom. Can you explain exactly what you mean there?
SycamoreCircle Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 But I know it's hard with this MTV generation. Who or what is that? 1
