chumble Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 When chatting at a bar or hanging out loosely with someone new, I'm prepared for all of the quips she is eventually going to make... about how I must be a shy guy, or too smart, or ignorant of whatever pop culture bullshlt, or I need to loosen up, "live more" or just whatever. Do people say this thinking that I am not content with myself, or have not heard it all before...? And I'm not even that weird or introverted, I just don't blather like an ogre. Sometimes I just want to respond by calling them fat. 3
NGC1300 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Man I don't know what it is, but it's like people can smell it on you. I even had a male lean in on me at a bar (was there with a woman), and he was like "I'm trying to get you laid". I just wanted to shove him off the stool. I can at times really despise humanity.
Author chumble Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 What are you two talking about? Bar culture's Pygmalion Project against my personality. And stop waving your arms around, fatass, it doesn't make you alpha. 1
Gary S Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Don't worry about it.... if a girl really digs you, she'll think you are the world's most interesting man - that's the way true love really works... think nothing of that tramp, lol Some of you guys need to grow a backbone.
Author chumble Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 I'm not worried if she likes me, it's just annoying... constantly. Maybe it's the rural US culture here of too much bluster. Not sure what constitutes having a backbone. I'm the kind of person to call my credit union to get an overdraft fee waived (if they want to keep my business), and have negotiated some pretty expensive change orders on construction projects.
Timshel Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Women can take equal grief for introversion. Forex, the selfie obsession and everyone is a documentarian now of their own frickn lives. I get strange looks for the 3 pics, zero video and no selfies I (don't) have in my phone. Hide, let me hide or at least remain reserved and not feel shamed about it. 1
