If you two aren't on the same page right now in terms of dating goals, you move on. If you go into this hoping for a relationship and thinking he will change his mind because it's you, you will be stringing yourself along and setting yourself up for being hurt. And, then you will be angry with him and calling him a jerk because you weren't focused on your own needs. 2

You can hold a man, but he has to have the right attitude first - that means he has to be mature and want monogamy. By the way, some people think monogamy is a type of wood! 4
