Ever since I started taking the pill, the doctor says they schedule every 6 months for an appointment.Would that be just a check up to see how I am doing with the birth control?

Im just curiuos if anyone has any idea on what I should expect.I just hope its only a check up.Im real nervous about it.

Im not comfortable with my doctor.

I get my birth control scripts for a year at a time. Have you had an abnormal pap smear?

Why are you not comfortable with your doc?

When I was switched from one pill (Levlite) to a different one (OTC Lo), my doc asked me to come in after 6 months to make sure everything was alright. Every pill seems to affect everyone differently, so I was glad to talk to the doctor & express whatever concerns I had. But since then I've gone once a year.

You definitely need to find a doctor you're comfortable with. Do so post-haste! :)

Screw that! They're getting PAID to see you. I'd find another doc if you don't like this one.

I'm on my 2nd doc. I had enough trouble working up the courage to see the first one, and after two visits she stopped practicing! Sigh.

I don't think there are as many OB/GYNs around as there used to be due to the number of lawsuits against them and the exorbitantly high cost of malpractice insurance, but I'm sure you can find one who won't be as pushy.

True that. I've seen malpractice premiums as high as $300,000.00 a year. poor guys!

PS....changing doctors ain't nuthin' but a thang. It happens every day. ;)

yeah, it's normal to ask for a checkup after 6 months being on the pill.

It's no big deal to go to a new doctor, is it? I never had a problem. Just look them up on my health insurance web site, check which school they went to and make an appointment.
