Insecurity isn't attractive man.

So what if she's watching a movie with some beefcakes in it. She's got the real thing waiting at home for her ;)

Actually, if I had an attractive bf 'waiting at home' for me, I'd say screw the movie - and I'd have HIM dance around for me in his boxers while flexing his muscles and shaking his junk in front of me! Um, he wouldn't be gyrating around for very long...:o:bunny::cool:

Well, to be fair, if I enter into a relationship with ANY guy, it's because part of what sexually attracted me to him in the first place was the physical condition of his bod. So, yeah...I'm not a stickler for a guy to have THE perfect bod (the way a lot of guys are regarding any woman they're with). It's okay if he's got a little belly (as long as it's not a full-on beer gut!) and isn't ripped...that's NOT what I'm looking for in a guy. But, he CAN'T be obese/overweight...he can't be too flabby, and he has to have at least SOME muscles.

But yeah, if the guy is someone with whom I'm VERY physically attracted to, then um...he had better fasten his seat belt on tight! Because...I'm gonna be ALL OVER HIM...(God help him lol):o

My only issue with this movie is that is shows that women, despite their claims that men are "visual creatures," are just as shallow as we are.

I've always claimed that we're just as visual (if not MORE!) than guys are to the physical (and facial) form!

Since men have been 'being visual' regarding womens' physicality for thousands of years, there's nothing wrong with us being THE SAME way regarding guys' physicality. Um, we're NOT blind just because we have a vah-jay-jay....;)

I admit that I'm mesmerized by beefcakes.

I dunno. I just watched it this evening. I liked the dancing, and could appreciate the technique behind the dancing, but I didn't find it titilating. I wasn't turned on. For me, to get turned on, takes a lot more than a hot body.

I "double like" your post ^^

I have the 1st one on DVD and went to see it in the theaters...Was I horny after? Yes. But, I've also left the theater horny watching non-stripper movies like "The Spirt", "Drive" (damn you Ryan Goslin!!! I hate you!!!), the A-Team (Jon Hamm, Liam Neeson, and Bradley Pitt all in one movie!!!), and both Sin City(ies)

It's the energy in the movie - not just the hot guys. I love dancing and at home when I blast the radio, I get up and dance cuz I've got hot blood running through my veins...

Would I be enthralled by one of those guys in real life? Nah, pleeeze. For one, I'm not into gym rats and/or beef cakes. Too much ego, shallowness and/or time spent on their diets/bodies.

But yes, I do like a nice bod on a guy and that's one thing that keeps me from getting with guys. I can't do the pot-belly, love-handles, etc.

I think I'll walk away from this thread cuz I don't wanna hear any spoilers - but with Jada Pinket in it, I suspected it was gonna be dirrrty. I've heard stuff in the tabloids over the years that she and hubby Will Smith, are into kinky weird stuff. But she seems like an "Alpha", ball buster female and as Will Smith is a desirable dude, you can tell she wears the pants (maybe a dildo even) in that RL and bedroom !!!

IMO, that movie depicts "certain" women - not any women I know in real life...

I think women are still more forgiving about a guy's looks than men are when it comes to women.

I mean, I walk down the street and look at couples and stuff...the guy will be balding, pot belly, etc and the woman still keeping herself looking sharp. Like that 50's lady I worked with who married that guy in his 60's who could pass for her dad. I felt she could do so much better - but I think women are looking more for affection, companionship, a "friend"...so, they can probably even marry a gay guy as long as he's nice to her.

Men connect more via the act of sex itself, so I guess that's why they're more visual. They could care less about chatting to a woman all night, they wanna boink that woman all night instead.

Again, I'm not shallow where a guy has to have a 6-pack, bicpeps and all that. But I like a fit and/or lean body. It's not just visually appealing, it's a subliminal sign of health, fitness, and stamina - all what I need in the bedroom:love:

I mean, look at the whole "penis pics" issue...I don't get it why guys wanna send you a pic of their penis and think that turns you on. We women aren't visual like men...IMO

Magic Mike was directed by Soderbergh. Magic Mike 2 was directed by some guy I've never heard of. That should have been your clue to save those ducats.

It's funny you posted this. GF texted me a couple hours ago telling me she wanted to go see magic mike. Doesn't seem to compelling but male critics have given it some decent reviews.

They make it look much better than real life.

This is true. Took my GF to her first strip club when we were in Vegas. Girls were stripping downstairs and guys stripping upstairs. She thought she was definitely going to prefer the guys because she is pretty hetero on the sexuality scale, but she ended up prefering the female strippers after seeing both sexes, so we spent most our time there. Ended the night with a lap dance (for my GF) from by-far the best looking female stripper there.

Ab/pec pics will turn on more women than a dick pic I reckon unless the guy sports a big one, then I think quite a few women will be more intrigued by him.

If you live in a fat country saying you want a fit/hunky guy but a 6 pack dont matter is not that far off putting premium on looks. I know quite a few women who think guys are shallow if they insist on a slim woman, and there is not much difference to me. A guy not sporting a 6 pack can still have an fantastic footballer/wrestler/lumberjack type physique. Personally if you sport an in shape bod then I don't its at all shallow wanting the similar. For some with good genetics its easy as having a good body, but for others it can be a lot of work and they expect someone decent as a result of the effort they have put in. I'd bet the movie does well and I'm sure the trend in targeted female erotic movies/shows will get stronger

I laughed when i read the opening post.

People who worry about the GF/BF going to see something that might turn them on.

I always remember James Belushi's line in Last Action Hero when talking about Schwarzenegger in regards to his wife;

I'm not really a big fan of Arnold's... She is, you know... Arnold really turns her on and I just want to be there when it happens.

Just be there when the GF/BF gets home :D

Lord, nearly every movie made has half-naked women in them. Don't you think that probably bothers a fair amount of women, too? Mainly because it doesn't seem to matter whether it's germane to the plot or not. How many times have you seen women pole dancing in movies and even on tv? I mean, it's on everything from the morning shows to Law & Order.

Magic Mike is pretty mainstream fun compared to a lot of stuff guys watch, so I'd advise spend the time while she's at the movie reading up on jealousy and insecurity.

For any guy who's insecure about it, here's an idea: Don't date women who are into jacked dudes if you're not. Problem solved.

I've got a lanky rock 'n' roll type build. I date women who find that sexy. On the converse too, I've got a couple of bodybuilder friends. One likes thick women so he dates thick women, the other's wife is jacked on a level close to him.

I agree the females put on a more sexual show that the guys...especially if it's a headliner. In the 80's there were peeler bars everywhere...used to go with the guys between classes when I was in college..the beer was cheap and cold. Went with my husband and his friends when we were first dating to some nice clubs downtown Vancouver.....now they are all disappearing.

Anyone who seriously believes women are less visual than men probably also believes in the tooth fairy.

Money can and very commonly does compensate for physical short comings with women, not so with men. That's the only difference.

Having said all that, I'd have no problem with my girl watching such a film at all. I'm not an uptight person :)

Geez, Magic Mike is no different from a huge number of mainstream movies that most people would watch without a second thought.

That being said, if I was a guy I'd probably lose interest in a girl if she thought Channing Tatum was hot.

Amen, Sister.

You can't turn on the TV, go to a movie, pick up a magazine, or go online without hooters being shoved in your face. Men have the opportunity to get their jollies at every turn, 24/7/365, but heaven forbid should ONE movie come out that caters to women for a change! Men can't take it! Besides, these guys aren't even taking it all off!! Why is this seen as "unfair" to some men?

This thread is pretty funny to me considering, as has been previously noted, how incredibly common it is to see topless women in tv shows and movies. God forbid there is a shirtless man with rippling muscles!

I suspect that the angst comes from fear that they partner is more turned on by the image on the screen than the partner at home. I guess that's sometimes true, but hopefully not the norm. I can enjoy a fantasy and an image, but nothing is as wonderful as a real man against my body, feeling his muscles, basking in his scent and inhaling his kiss.
