VeryBrokenMan Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I can see how a WW might feign suicide to garner sympathy for some terrible act they committed like an affair. I'm sure that much of what we see after an affair is discovered is an attempt to hoist themselves back on their pedestal. My wife certainly was/is manipulative but with only those details it's impossible to say if your is.
d0nnivain Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I don't necessarily see manipulative. I see someone who did a bad thing, got caught, now feels guilty & as a result became so depressed as to be suicidal. She's feeling what she is feeling. It's not just an act to make the BS feel sorry for her (unless there is more to the story). 1
drifter777 Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Is this the "my wife got pregnant and HIV in Africa" story?
loveboid Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Notify a mental health professional. She can be committed to a mental hospital without her consent if a mental health professional deems suicidal intent. Tell her that and see if she keeps threatening suicide. 2
gettingstronger Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 By nature, those that cheat are manipulative-BUT if you are asking if she is really not suicidal and just manipulative, thats a tough call and one only a mental health professional- although rare, I think some may attempt suicide out of revenge, when I suppose if you look at it is a sign of a mental illness- Get her help, don't go this alone-
TrustedthenBusted Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 This is going to sound callous, and I promise you that I am not an evil or uncaring person. But my personal experience has been that the truly suicidal people....are all dead. Moreover, those deaths usually come as a huge shock to everyone in their orbit. The people who WANT everyone to think they are suicidal... well they tend to be around for a long time. I'm just sayin.. 1
elaine567 Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 A poster on here had a ww that committed suicide, so perhaps not an idle threat. If she is depressed and suicidal get her seen by a professional ASAP. Do not assume anything, let them assess the risk.

That said,I agree with an earlier poster. If she is talking suicide, get her to a hospital. If she is bluffing, I guarantee you she won't do it again EVER after a 72 hour hold. If she is suicidal, she'll get help.
Dutchman1 Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I Think it was jack O'Neill s wife who did Dutchman 1
William Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Since this discussion is not about a member's personal affair, I merged two threads on the similar topic and moved the discussion to GRD. Please do not discuss other web sites. Please do discuss the topic. Thanks!
