Male victims of sexual harassment get another job

If you are a man who happens to be in the unofortunate position of being sexually harassed by a female boss then really the only thing you can do is start looking for another job. A friend of mine is in that predicament. This is a situation where he is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

 

What I mean is if your boss is female and has a sexual request then she can make alot of trouble for you if you don't sleep with her. If you sleep with her it spells trouble later. If you don't sleep with her she can write you up for insubordination and make your life at work a living hell. If you try to report her you will be laughed at by HR. They will accuse you of being in denial and that maybe you have sexually harassed her. She may turn it around and fabricate a story to falsely accuse you of being the harasser. It doesn't really help your case if you find your boss attractive either. Even though you did not act on your attraction because you knew sleeping with her was asking for trouble it can still be used against you.

 

This reminds me of the movie Disclosure with Michael Douglass and Demmi Moore. The guy was bound for trouble whether he took her up on her request for sex or not.

 

There's really nothing that any guy can do to prevent a situation like this except to find another job if your female superiors are hitting on you.

Hello, and welcome to the 21st Century.

Thank you for your post, dated 1975....

 

I know two guys who took their female superiors to task regarding sexual harassment and they both won...

 

One was at the garden centre where I worked 2 years ago, and the other was at a primary school where I was a Parent Governor.

 

Both times the guys were totally supported by their peers and HR departments.

 

'Getting another job' is the option for the guy who is not prepared to do things the right way, make a stand and wimps out.

 

And I know plenty of women who have bottled out in the same way....
