There is a neighborhood cafe that I visit almost nightly, and this one woman who works there as a barista has caught my attention. I wasn't into her at first, but I felt she was flirting with me a little over time and oddly enough, I started to like her. I caught her eyeing a date of mine I recently brought in there (I swear not to make her jealous), so I think there's potential.

Anyway, I am nervous to ask her out for two reasons:

1. I visit there regularly. What if we go out and there's no chemistry or it doesn't work out. It's the best damn cafe in town and I don't want to hunt out another spot!

2. I feel stupid for smiling too much the last time I saw her. I don't think she was in a good mood on this particular night and I felt like such an idiot smirking the whole time I was talking to her. A bit of an odd interaction compared to usual.

So how the heck do I ask this fine lady out? There are probably going to be some customers around. It is a really intimate place.

1. If that does happen than oh well, rather go ahead with it then not and regret it. It's only awkward if you make it awkward.

2. Most women like men who smile, so dont be self-conscious just be natural.

it's really not that hard to ask someone out lol you think of words you want to say, put them in a sentence. Bam. You did it.

Lol. Yeah, it's kind of dumb when I think about it. I don't think I need the 'words' so much as I need some encouragement. I tend to say whatever comes to mind :)

Oh, i feel that. Definitely think it out before you do it, but even when i prepare in advance, i still manage to eff it up haha. Good luck!

Typical life span of a barista is a number of months, so if you're too embarrassed to show your face again---know that next season brings new employment.

Why are you focused on you? Focus on her. That will make the experience more enjoyable for both of you. If you're worried about chemistry, why jump to asking her out? What happened to, "hey, is this your playlist that's currently playing? I like some of your choices." Guys ruin their chances by hurling themselves off of cliffs. Walk the perimeter of the gorge, before deciding you want to ride the donkey down.

Spill coffee all over the counter, make it look like an accident.

Next time when you walk in she will remember you.

Then just strike up a conversation!

Thank you, Im a genius. Problem solved.

Say, with a confident, knowing smile:

"Hi, would you like to go out with me one day?

Make sure you look into her eyes when you ask.

Aw fiddlesticks, I overheard her mention from a distance she has a boyfriend. I was totally going to ask her out before I leave tonight. Damn!

We have really good banter whenever I come in too. What a bummer.

I definitely encourage you to approaching her, if she didn't have the boyfriend, but I just had to post this, not to discourage you, but because it's really funny. Maybe it'll make you smile. :)
