I started dating after ending a 10 year marriage and I can't believe how much it has changed. OLD and dating apps like tinder have created a culture of what I call "throw away relationships". Find someone you like and try them out, if you decide they aren't perfect for you, just throw them away. Then, fire up tinder..or okc or pof... and pick your next match. And they know that they have no obligation cancel a date or to return a text, so why should they bother? I'm afraid the sad fact might be that this is how modern dating works.

Occasionally a person gets lucky and finds a relationship right away.... but the vast majority of them will be just one date, it's normal, think nothing of it.

But my question is, why did you have to text her for a time? You should call once and get all the details, time and day (place could be a surprise, or determined later), settled on one call, with no callbacks to verify.

If you get off the phone without a time and day, you may think you have a date, but you don't.
