As much as everyone born in the same country have the same citizenship rights, I do find it hugely ironic when a second generation white immigrant spews hatred over differences on people of colour who have been living in the same country for generations more. Hilarious.

Quote where I have spewed hatred.

And I'll ask you again, how do you know I'm white?

why do you assume she was aiming that at you when your name wasn't even mentioned?

I find that same phenomenon occurring a lot, too.

If the shoe fits.....

Your posts are very derogatory and divisive towards certain minorities that you appear to consider inferior because of the colour of their skin.

You mention you are the child of eastern european immigrants, that likely makes you white, could be Roma I suppose but then I'd have to assume a good deal of self-hatred by the fact that you seem to deem white people superior.

The thing is your parents emigrated to a country with a large population connected to the former British Empire. That means millions of people of colour who have a stronger historic connection to the UK than your parents ever did.

I was just wondering. There's this girl I'm dating. She doesn't really look white to me. Once I even volunteered my ethnic background saying my great great grandpa was from Bradford. She just said she hardly knows her ethnic background. She is distant from her family they live in another state and as far as I know she's estranged from her family. She also says she doesn't believe in things like that a lot. Like with sexuality gender identity and racial or cultural identity. Her last name is pretty common. It just is kind of odd sometimes trying to describe her because it's hard to place her. She's mentioned her last name is French derived despite it sounding English. Well anyhow this is kind of bothering not that it would change anything I like her a lot and it's been going good. It's just we've been going out long enough I should know what race she is. Advice?

why on earth do you feel like you need to know what race she is??

You're putting words into my mouth there. I have never said, not even come close to inferring, that white people are superior. I genuinely don't understand where you have got that from.

One of my parents emigrated to England. I was born in England.

I want you to provide a specific quote or quotes where I imply white people are superior please.

That's funny because it seems to me that several people have taken exception to your posts. You focus on the differences on how people of colour are DIFFERENT from white people. That's the definition of ethnocentricity (look it up) which is racist. Since you are white and ethnocentric, you put your own race/ethnicity over others. That's apparent in every post.

Yes I know you were born in England. The parent that emigrated from eastern europe had far less connection to the UK than the people of colour you seem keen on singling out as 'different'. Your parent that emigrated here was/is just as different if anyone wishes to nitpick. The fact that the emigrant parent was white does not make them any less different.

You should be grateful that the nice brown citizens didn't organise demonstrations to kick whities out that came from the bog end of Europe ;)

Again, provide a quote.

Yes, people of colour are different to white people. The same follows that white people are different from people of colour. An Asian is different from a black person and a black person is different from a Hispanic person.

A blonde haired person differs in hair colour from someone with black hair.

A female differs from a male in a biological sense.

I am different from my father in terms of eye colour.

What is it you don't understand about this? All I'm pointing out is that people ARE different in lots of ways. Colour/race is just one of those ways. That's an undeniable fact. A scientific truth.

If I said that white people are better than back people I would be a racist, yes. But that's not even close to what I'm saying.

Any sensible, rational thinking person would get this. You're clearly neither.

Several people? I think you are the only one taking offense and you take offense because you distort each words that is spoken on here.

Being different does not mean one had to be superior. Apples are different than oranges but they are both fruits.

And here is the definition:

Ethnocentrism is judging another culture solely by the values and standards of one's own culture

It starts with the word JUDGING. Again who is judging here?

What is the difference between asking what's your race and asking what's your age? They are both meant to be informative questions.

black people have actually been here longer than most white people. In America. But she's doesn't really look black or white. Which was why I assumed her family came from somewhere recently.
