carhill Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Ha, said it this morning when leaving the beach to my best friend's wife, partly because of our long tradition and partly due to her not throwing anything at me all weekend or cussing me out. I think it was the bag of M&M covered almonds that did the trick I don't have any real love stories since my D five years ago but that doesn't mean I don't say ILY to people. I do, and often. Life is short and one doesn't know, at my age anyway, when the next loved one is departing the mortal coil. 3
MoreAmore Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I exchanged I love you's with my best friends and with my boyfriend shortly ago when they went to sleep, and not long before that when my child went to sleep. Ian a big believer in saying it if you feel it, even if it seems often, and even if you know it's not reciprocated, because I've had both family members and friends die, and I've certainly regretted not saying it or not saying it enough, and don't ever regret saying it. 1
avintagegirl Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Hmm, in a relationship I love you the last one was July 2011. I would have said it in 2013, but the fellow just wasn't that into me. Good thing I kept quiet! The I love you you say to you Mom - a few hours ago. I love you to a friend, last Friday.
S_A Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) Tonight... GF and I were rubbing each other's butts while we were cuddling on our sides and we simultaneously said "I like your @$$" We said it on the dot, too. We were silent when it happened because we could not believe it. We then laughed about it and then we said I love you. The romantic part happened a little later Edited June 23, 2015 by S_A 2
Bubberfly Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I try to say it at least once a day to someone I truly love. Most of the time that ends up being my dogs... But I don't think that's what you were meaning. My last romantic relationship where we said I Love You, I really can't remember the first time we said it to eachother (how sad is that). I don't regret it one bit, I try not to throw those three words around unless they really mean something. We broke up, and while I can't stand the guy, and have zero intention of ever getting back with him, if he told me he loved me, I would easily say it back and mean it. Hmm, not really a beautiful love story. But I do think it's important to verbalize those words whenever you mean it, even if they don't say them back to you. If you're feeling it, you should tell them. What if one day they're gone and you never had a chance to say it?
Gloria25 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I said ILY and Xoxo via Skype with my brother on Father's Day and in texts, calls, etc with my mum and other relatives... I do it more for them than me...I really don't know if I feel actual "love" and/or will ever feel it. I just know that I care about them and it shows in all I do/feel for them past, present, future.
Stillits Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Around 3.5 years ago (romantically, anyway). Not a cute story for me, as it was pretty shortly before my ex left me.
Author candie13 Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 a couple of days ago I was chatting with my mom. She is very new to the the whole "text" phenomenon, and I am still shocked to be in contact with her like that we never say ILY in our family - especially not face to face. As I live abroad since a long time, this changed, but i'm still shy when it comes to expressing how I feel. So I've decided to change that, this year: the quantity and quality of the contact - the usual getting in contact with dad much more and coming to visit them much more often. So a few days ago I wrote ILY to my mom - I'd left her a couple of messages as she had helped me out with a few administrative chores in my home country. She responded the next days that she loves me a lot. I told her "I love you more". After a couple of seconds, she immediately responded "that's what you think !!!". I was sooo touched, it's honestly one of the most beautiful things anyone ever told me. who would have thought, my mom, go figure.
regine_phalange Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 To my mum. Some weeks ago. Of course I didn't regret saying it
jen1447 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Early this morning, back and forth w/my GF after some emotional sex. Can't really tell the story behind it unless you want a porno on here. 1

autumnnight Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I said it this morning to my dog. I said it last night to my kids. I said it Sunday to my parents. I know the OP was probably talking about romantic love, but I don't feel like remembering that today. 1
Author candie13 Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 I said it to my dad last night ! I felt like a million dollars, I don't remember last time I told him that.

Robert Z Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 When my first sb walked out the door for the last time as my sb. That was two months ago. I did pretty good right up to the last moment. But then I lost it a bit and had to say it one more time as we hugged - god I love you soooooo much. We had three incredible years - the three best years of my life. I didn't know it was possible to love someone that much. 2
Yummm Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I've never taken the word for granted due to my past so I say it to all the people I love in my life, my family and my close friends. The last time I said 'I love you' with passion was with my ex, there was 1 night that the sparks were so intense that I said 'I love you so much it hurts and I have no idea how to express my love for you' followed by some great passionate sex, ahhh I miss that
PrettyEmily77 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Last night, to my gorgeous little niece. She'll be 3 soon and was trying to tell me what she wanted for her birthday. I didn't understand a word of she was saying but she was so adorable I totally melted on the spot. Not said it to the BF yet - any minute now... . 3
acrosstheuniverse Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 About six hours ago. I came home from work sick with a migraine and just caught him leaving the house. We hugged over the fence and he kissed my forehead and told me he loved me and would take care of me when he got home, and ordered me to get inside the flat and go to bed. 2
Arieswoman Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 About 3 hours ago when hubby was going off to his afternoon shift at work.....
2.50 a gallon Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Twice this morning, when we woke up, and 10 minutes ago when she left for work. Will hear and say it at least twice more, when she gets home and when we got to bed, but will likely hear or say without being prompted.
