Snowy90 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I went out Saturday night, n gave my phone to a mate n he lost it. I put my phone on lost mode using find my iPhone, and I did not realise this allows the person who finds the phone to contact your emergency contacts. Unfortunately I also did not realise that my first contact was my ex. So after so long of staying strong n not contacting, only once to pass something on.. He received a call from my number n did not answer. I was so upset that my mate who is also mates with him contacted him n told him that he lost my phone so if he received any calls that's why, he's response was to tell My friend to sort out the contact info n passed on the number they left on voicemail. So to me that says he wants me out of his life and gone, which is sad cause I did want to be friends eventually but seems he doesn't even want to play nice. Then I got a msg from him.. Couple minutes later (Which makes no sense as he believes my phone is still missing). He doesn't say hello, how are you or anything.. Just sends the number n their name.. But to me.. I do not understand why he would msg me at all, my mate could pass on the details and it doesn't make sense sending a msg to a phone you think is lost
dumbass2 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 So, you have the phone back? How did you eventually get it back?
Author Snowy90 Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 My mum was the second emergency contact. They called her and gave her their address.
ravfour4 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Seems like you're overthinking this a ton. For 1, you didn't attempt to contact him at all, you are still doing a great job. For 2, he ignored one call of yours - maybe the random person who found your phone called them at like 2:30 AM and he planned to call back the next day, but before he did your mate told him it wasn't actually you. Seems overall like not a big deal at all, I'm glad you have your phone back and you and this guy could still be friends one day potentially - if/when you're ready, just reach out and perhaps he'll respond.

Aww! That's so cute! OP, it was a bonehead move, wasn't it? That tells me he didn't give any thought to it, he just passed along the number without thinking and called it a day. You are overthinking it.
