First was nearly 4 year relationship which she forced me into a position to break up 1 day before our 4 year anniversary. We tried to figure it out but it didn't happen. Took me 8 months to get over that. Second was girl I recently broke up with, we met 8 months after I broke up with the first girl and hit it off straight away. I posted another thread on it, but basically lots of red flags that I ignored, 2 real breakups and 2 attempted breakups which we talked past, all initiated by her. Last year around this time she broke up with me for a month, we started talking again and she realised she made a mistake and we got back. Roughly same time this year she initiated breakup and immediately started dating someone else (significant downgrade as he is serial cheater who doesn't even really see his 6 kids, he's also incredibly clingy and needy). It's been exactly 5 weeks since this last breakup and I'm surprised at how well I've been doing. Thinking about it though maybe I've always been on edge expecting it due to so many other times she's tried it and regretted it. I actually expected this breakup to be the worst one yet but it just hasn't been. I'm genuinely surprised. Day 23 of NC and it's been hard sometimes but it does get easier.
