  • Back in early May I matched with this cute girl on tinder, we talked back and forth for a few hours and genuinely seemed to connect.

  • I was too busy that week to ask her out (school) so I tried to keep in contact with her by messaging. She started taking awhile to respond so I assumed she was trying to give me the hint that she just wasn't interested. So I gave her my number, said to text me if she ever wanted to chat and left it at that.

  • About an hour later she texts me. Surprised, I talk to her and try to organize a time to hangout, I ask her if she's free that weekend and she says 'maybe' and doesn't seem all that interested in finding the time. So I stop texting her.

  • A couple days ago, after not talking for a MONTH, she texts me saying "hey, long time no talk". We catch up a bit and I suggest we hangout some time, she said she's free all weekend. I ask her about Sunday and she says it works for her and that'd she love to. I then ask what is in her area that she'd like to do (because I'm unfamiliar with it). She didn't open the text until Sunday evening and never replied.

perhaps her family are not happy that she is on tinder

Next time, call her on the phone. It's much easier to negotiate a date, and sometimes they like to hear your voice.

Text is a poor form of communication.

Let this one go. I hate to say this, but...YOU are a backup plan. Something else didn't pan out and she reached out as a result. Maybe she was mad at the guy she's been seeing. Likely he reached out to her, so you got pushed to the backburner again. I wouldn't waste anymore time on this one, unless you don't mind being a plan B.

I'd ssoo lose her number and ignore any further contact from her. Who has time for flakes. I agree it's rude on her part as well.

When I was dating, if a girl did this, I vanish faster than a fart in the wind! :)
