Am I wrong to pretend to be oblivious and naive?

I've been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years now. He lives with his parents and I've been going over there to spend the night. They never seemed to mind at all. Well recently my boyfriend has started to think his mom doesn't like me. I have been pretending not to pick up on it. I act like I think she loves me and told my boyfriend that I like her a lot. I just act completely clueless and innocent. I continue to act super nice to everyone including his mom. He knows that she hates me. But I feel like if my boyfriend sees me as this sweet, innocent girl who believes the best about his family (even if they hate me with a passion) he will value me, protect me and take my side and put me first. Does this quality make a girl seem like a more positive person to have as a girlfriend? Or am I wrong for playing dumb about the way his mom feels?

Boy, this mirrors another post by a boyfriend who thinks his girlfriend is naive about the fact that his mother doesn't like her.

If you two are posting here and don't know it, I think we should stay out of the middle really.

That being said, you are doing yourself no favors by doing that. It sends a message that you are not a strong, independent, secure woman and that is something that most men appreciate and want in a woman. They like to protect them, of course, but they also want them to be able to deal with and handle some of their own problems and situations as well. In this case, they sure don't want to be in the middle.
