TaraMaiden2 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Have you ever considered the new voice technology that allows direct communication? I think they call it a telephone. No, silly, that requires vocal cords...oh..... wait...... 1

Silly texts around kids and work offers its own set of fun. Besides pictures. Lol. Vocal chords have other fun besides talking
TaraMaiden2 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 At least talking costs less...unless you purposely got one of those '5 trillion texts/month and no hidden charges' malarkey.... Texts are soon going to cost as much, if not more than calls, because so many people prefer texting to talking. Which is actually a huge disadvantage at times....
jen1447 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I don't think so - unlimited text is a common cellular plan. Personally I love texting bc it's a unique form of communication that lends itself well to flirting and other kinds of fun. 7
Davey L Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I think you youngsters are missing out on the romance of getting some paper, a pen, an envelope and a postage stamp. That way you'd be lucky to get 2 or 3 in a week not 1200 a day, but you get to keep and re read them years later. 1

Keenly Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Keep the texts going. It's fun while it lasts. Don't give in to the pressure from the older people to change what works for you. One day they will learn that we are a new generation that communicates differently, and our courtship doesn't have to be the same as their courtship. 1
Emilia Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I think my record was about 500 in one day. Took ages to finish the food shop.
Gloria25 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Years ago I met a guy on OLD, I really liked him and seemed like we had great chemistry. After we exchanged telephone numbers, we talked all night...for hours. Well, when we finally met in person, there was no spark. There was nothing literally to talk about and I was even upset about it cuz he still liked me and I liked him, but didn't go anywhere with it cuz too much too soon... IMO, you gotta build up to stuff...that talking all nite didn't give us a chance to look forward to learning about each other. So, I now, from that point forward, keep my conversations short and don't spend too much time on first dates/RL with guys. 1
Author Giggle Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 Yeah Gloria I keep expecting it to burn out. But lol, it's gotten worse. We didn't talk nearly as much 15 months ago. I don't even talk to my BFF this much, and we talk a lot. I still have some letters from when my ex was deployed =o) my grandma has email and texting and Facebook but I still write her snail mail letters. Are there still plans that limit texting? I have unlimited texting and voice for $50 so... It's the data that they get you on now. 1
minimariah Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 i hope at least one of those texts was a nudie. nudies are important! 1
jen1447 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 ^ Yes - they communicate that extra bit of meaning that words alone can't. 1
