Personally, I'd rather just meet up with her for coffee, and that shouldn't be too big of a leap, as she's local, as opposed to being 1.5 to 2 hours drive away. I suppose it may be too soon, but I just don't see anything meaningful getting accomplished by any further messaging. Is there a time range to set a proposed meet up? To be clear, I'm not talking about how long I should wait before asking her out. Specifically, when the appointment will be. In the olden' days of last decade, I heard that if you ask to meet her in less than 7 days, they'll typically refuse even though she really will be free. Otherwise, it makes her look like some loser with no life (and this is what I've read and heard from others. To me, it doesn't make that much sense) However, there's gotta be some figure that's too long too right? If you ask her if she wants to grab some coffee at Starbucks 4 weeks from now, who remembers stuff that far away? Due to my schedule of working late and being out of town, I was going to go with 2 weekends from now. I'd propose something in the evening and sooner from now, but that would be roughly dinner time, and would be a larger commitment than I'd prefer. Can you still ask a lady out for coffee around 7pm without offering dinner?

As long as she is interested enough to meet you in person and you can find a cafe that's open past 7pm, it's fair game. Also, try to take her out to an actual cafe... Not like mcdonalds or dunkin donuts lol. I would be ok with starbucks as well.
PogoStick Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 2 weeks is too long. I'd ask her to meet ASAP. Even if that means an hour over lunch. If it has to be 2 weeks then at least go for a phone conversation to develop some connection before then.
