I have liked a woman I work with for some time. I keep getting to the point where I think she likes me too and then she will almost ignore me and I think ok she just sees me as a friend.

Yesterday there was a group of us talking and I'm sat next to her. We were talking about keeping in touch with people and she said that she isn't good at it. We were talking about coworkers and she said that sometimes she can like a coworker more than a friend but if she knows that they are going from her life she tries to push them away so she doesn't get hurt when they go. I've been thinking about what she means and if it could have be directed at me, as I have mentioned on a number of occasions that I am looking for a new job and she has been really cold with lately. Previously she was asking me to massage her neck and now she doesn't even look up from her desk.

She has been really good and got me some training for a new job within the dept which I also wonder is her way of getting me to stay.

Maybe I am thinking too much into it as I like her? But I am curious about her liking people more than friends? Would this be like a brother or sister?

Well yeah, probably cuz you like her you may be looking into her actions more than actually is going on...

And yes, some women in the workplace, IMO, do things that appear to be "flirty" and they should take better precaution in acting like that.

Look, IMO, you getting a new job is a good thing. That way if you and she really wanna date, the whole "don't poop where you eat" thing is not gonna be an issue. So, if you do leave, before you do - have a convo with her, let her know you would like to get to know her outside of the office and see if she bites. If she doesn't bite, then who cares - at least you won't be working there any more and have to face her after her rejection of you.

But seriously, I'm concerned about her mentality. I mean, the fact that she pushes people away at the first sight of them leaving sorta makes sense cuz she's protecting herself from getting hurt. But, how does you getting a different job mean you're leaving "her"? Is she so insecure that she needs a guy around 24/7 - hence her being comfortable with an office romance (she gets to be with him at work and after work)?
