I pumped air to my bicycle in a gas station, the man who gave me the remaining air pump and helped me said 'your husband' today, I discussed with a Window and door guy in my house about the replacement price, he said 'your husband'... WTF! I don't have a ring in my hand! I have never mentioned I have someone! Why the hell they assumed so? is it because I looked certain age? but does it necessary mean I have to be married?! WHY?:mad::mad:

Maybe there's an air of maturity about you. -Where do you live? Depending on the region, the men might be old-fashioned and inadvertently sexist. -The industries they work in cater to married clientele with money who own their own homes? Maybe a single woman is rare? I really don't know.

They could just be fishing to see if you are single? Or you might get that if you drive a minivan like all the other soccer mom's? 1

It's such an awkward question to try to answer lol... I think that it's generally just a genuine mistake on their part.

I really don't know. - indeed of certain age. but people used to assume I am at least 10 years younger. guess I aged quite a bit over the last year because of stress and burden? - one of the biggest cities of your northern neighour. - just a small single semi-detached...and a car and a bike?

A lot of guys start by figuring out you are single, and then just taking it from there. Acting surprised when she says she is single is all part of the game. "What, you're single? No way!" Now I know why you say men never hit on you. You never notice it! Maybe you and I have different ideas of what "hitting on" even is lol. I would think hitting on would mean asking on a date or for a phone number or someone being very flirty and forward... Me saying I'm not married, getting the surprised reaction, and then moving on doesn't seem to fit the bill haha. "Took my car for an oil change, the dude offhandedly mentioned a husband, seemed surprised when I corrected him, then proceeded to politely change my oil. Yup, TOTALLY hit on me, wanted to bone me for sure..." I mean, come on ^^^ that is ridiculous haha. Is that your real pic? If it is than you would make driving a minivan look sexy. No Limit Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Shrug it off and don't worry about it. The last guy I met at the local club was convinced I had a BF. Neither my wing-girl stating that I was single (or in her words, "forever alone" ) nor my Facebook profile with no male comment on my uploaded content in sight and a single relationship status were proof enough for him that I was single. In the end I just thought to hell with it and after a few drinks he was more relaxed anyway. 1

I used to work at a job where we had to call women at home. I had co-workers that would always assume that if a man picked up, he was "the husband." 2
